Slave Appreciation Thread II I'm gon' make my very first post on this forum to add in wit my appreciation of my all-time favorite funk band. I wanted to make this post a couple of days ago in was supposed to be a re-up of the original Slave Appreciation Thread from 2005, but now that I'm off my 5 day probation, I got it here now with this part II...
I was over here havin' a discussion wit some folks about ol' skool music, today's music, funk groups and thangs, and, wit me being in front of my laptop, I decided to look up my favorite band on Google, and it led me to prince.org and the '05 Slave thread. And I was like, "Ohh shit, I thought I was the biggest Slave head on the planet, Sheeeeit!" Well, I love this group and all.....fuck it, most of their music, especially my favorite album, of any damn genre.....STONE JAM! I discovered that album about a couple of years ago when I was like a mere child , and yeah, it was a done. deal. Like the rest of the guys said in the original thread, it just flows smooth from front to back; and as far as I see it, it should be a crime to listen to that album in any other way than from track 1 to track 8. Just simply, beautiful funk music, my kinda music yall. "Say I'm lookin' at you, from the corner of my eye..."

"Stone Jam" is my favorite Slave album also. If "Sizzlin' Hot" don't make your ass move, then it belongs in a fucking wheelchair. Andy is a four letter word.

Imma third you guys on that... Stone Jam is definitely the bomb. One of the best funk albums of all time, not a single bad cut on the album. I especially like Mark 'Mr.Mark' Adams' bass playin' throughout the album. My fave cut is Watching You.
I also love the earlier Slave stuff too, and some of the stuff they did after Stone Jam, namely Show Time. Great band, great bass player It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

Hell yeah!, and the same can be attributed to the title track "Stone Jam". If I got that shit blarin through my headphones, no matter where I'm at: post office, grocery store, I start jammin' and actin' a damn fool. FuNkeNsteiN said: Imma third you guys on that... And Mark Hansolor Adams is one of my fav bass players too (naturally); all his best work was on Stone Jam imo..."Watching You", forget being the best song on the album, shit I think that's one of my all-time favorite songs period. That's the song that got me into the group initially. The Show Time album is just about as great as Stone Jam; whenever I put on Show Time, I always find myself either goin' straight to "Party Lites", or "Wait For Me", or sometimes skipping certain tracks here and there at certain times; with, Stone Jam, I just throw it on, and let it ride. My third fav Slave album is "The Concept", that shit is tight and underrated. My favorites on there being "Stellar Fungk", "The Way You Love..", "Just Freak", and "Coming Soon".
