If the British strip down their music, slow down the tempo, and start using cheap sounding drum machines, we might have another British Invasion. If they don't, we definately won't have another invasion because the record labels wouldn't take the chance on them running their cheap music out of style.

The Spice Girls had a bigger impact on America than Joss or Amy.

I'll save my discussion on The Chemical Brothers, Goldie, & The Prology later.

...Rick Ashley!biggrin Dead Or Alvie.

Even some of the production of Stock Aitken Waterman was provoking a British Invasion.

TVD -- Astley kind of fell off sooner than he should have.

Anyways, many of the new British acts find a hard time distinguishing themselves from Americans, which is virtually indistinguishable now.

Well the USA needs this POP group from the UK they are the biggest thing there, 15 straight top 5 singles, they came from a reality show back in 2002 and they are to date the biggest selling act to come from a reality show, and have sold more than all the American Idol winners combined!

GIRLS ALOUD!

Currently on a summer european tour and their 5th studio album is released in November. They've sold 40 million and never been on the USA stage yet.

I only know about Rick's first 3 career albums. But you right about Rick falling off. But it was his decision to leave pop culture on his own terms. He never wanted Elvis-type success. He rather sit on a stool and sing blues & gospel.

Lady Sov. is charting in the U.S too.

I think she's adorable. I'm not as big of a fan as I was when I first heard her stuff though. Most of the artists in my whole collection are British, so I'd definitely have no problem with an invasion.

if it means more of this, then please no. though ABC and Human League have a few shining moments a piece.

Good, but we were listening in the gym while Tracy was on the treadmill, so I couldn't hear all of the details.

I still like Lady Sov. hmph! Grime is British music, and Sov's earlier stuff was more grime, but when she signed to an American label I guess her music became slightly Americanized. A lot of her fans who knew her before the album dropped were kinda disappointed with the track list to Public Warning. I like the actual song "Public Warning".....reminds me of the Beastie Boys.

That was the point. What distinguishes her from some of the other MCs or R&B acts out now?
