Anybody Remember New Jack Swing?

I used to like it quite a bit. It didn't seem to last very long though, kinda seemed to go away as quickly as it came. sad
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I met Teddy twice.. he's one of the most down to earth and humble ppl to meet nod .. real nice dude..

oh. . he loves Prince too .. one of the Guy songs he patterned around the Vanity 6 song.. (called 'D.O.G.Me Out' song on "The Future" album) ..

Funny...most people who've worked with Teddy usually regret meeting him and have been ripped of, which is why he can't get work except in Japan these days.

Never knew that Teddy wrote a song for Guy that was inspired by Vanity 6 - that's pretty cool.

I don't know who Keith Sweat is, but his name makes me feel ill.

As if it wasn't bad enough to be called Kieth, but then to have a surname named after bodily excretion...

Reminds me of Sid Snot, but I'm guessing Keith isn't as amusing.

He was an R&B artist of the late 80's. In fact,Teddy Riley said that Keith Sweat was the first artist that he produced and Keith told him that he should have his own album which of course is the group called Guy. By the way, that really is his last name.

Boy, do I disagree. Those tunes (which are, essentially, the soundtrack of my high school years) are timeless- both the r&b and rap side of new jack swing. Keep in mind that New Jack Swing was going on at the time of the LA/Babyface and Jam & Lewis movements. Black music hasn't been the same (or arguably as good) since.

The house/new jack era reminds me of the disco/rock era. Each genre in each era had their own fans and they hated the other type of music at the time. lol
