It's rare to find artists that EVERYBODY likes All I can think of is Sade and Tears For Fears. I've heard very little to no complaints about them here on in orgland as well as in the outside world. But I can't think of any others. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

i've known people who LOATHE tears for fears.
and i've also known people who think sade is elevator music, but i think they were just trying to be all punker-than-thou.

Those people are called dumbasses.
No, but from my own personal experience I've heard VERY little animosity about those artists. But I don't even think there are any artists that everybody likes. I could say The Beatles or Prince or Weezer or even Led Zeppelin. But I've heard bad things heard about all these guys too. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

I'm not into her music, but she gets me horny. So in that respect I do like her. Well, actually that "9 to 5" song was a nice lil' ditty. So in that respect I do like her. she's just a likeable entertainer and a legendary sexpot. she's gone out of her way to be likeable and charming. it's what she does for a living. and on the side, she's a super talented musician. what's not to like?

Oh yeah, and how can anybody dislike James Brown? He came to this earth to give us this thing we call "Soul" and made his exit.
Future generations are gonna be dancing to his music 200 from now I bet. [Edited 5/8/07 10:04am] NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

[Edited 5/8/07 10:04am] I don't know, there was some prick on this form a few months ago calling JB a hack that only surrounded himself with talented musicians. He got run out of here pretty quick, I think, but nonetheless... "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind." -Dr. Seuss

Not me. I gave her a 2 rating on that other thread. I don't get her solo. I find it aside from diva, i agree. i think her voice is too good for 80% of her solo material. but i love her vocals and i'm in favor of HER as a personality/entertainer...so i wouldn't say i hate her by a long shot.

The band is tight and airthang I watched one on DVD and it was cool at first, but I eventually had to turn it off. It never left a certain range of notes and became extremely tedious, if not actually torturous. But then my friend regularly watches another of her DVD concerts, so who am I to say? My Legacy

John Coltrane and Miles Davis are nearly universally loved. I also can't think of a soul that dislikes The Temptations or Aretha Franklin (no pun intended). Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

I was thinking of them, they're undisputed gods of jazz. But their music goes over the heads of folks like my dad (who I swear once said he could play trumpet as well as Miles, despite never having played before!) My Legacy
