I don't remember anyone here on the org who absolutely hated the Beatles or thought that their music was shit, but I have seen a lot of heated arguments on this forum when some people overly praised them as musical gods. That is worthy of discussion, whether you believe The Beatles are God's gift to popular music or whether you believe Prince could run circles musically around the Beatles.

Exactly. Why would you be even on a Prince site mentioning that if you don't like his biggest influence?

I dont know anyone disliking Bob Marley.

I will admit to not knowing them except for what was on the radio, but it all had such an 80's sound, and I can't stand 80's music.

They're not the end-all, be-all of music. Enjoyment of music is entirely subjective and can be based on many factors. There are qualities in musicians I love that I don't get from The Beatles or Aretha. I'm sure there are qualities that they have that my favorites lack.

I do like SOME 80's stuff just not the majority of it. That said, I'm more of a fan of Prince's 90's stuff, but that's a whole other thread!

I've never met anyone who dislikes Bob Marley or The Beatles. I don't see how any can dislike either. Both are genius and have an amazing portfolio of music.
