Special Shout Out To Mara, TA, and Paligap

for taking time to make their posts unique, dynamic, and visually interesting. Big up to Paligap with his album covers. Of course this thread might make them feel pressure to perform, which could hinder future posts, but I'll take that risk.

Thank you lilgish.

When I signed up here, during the period they keep you on ice, I made a mental note of the posting styles of 2 people in particular.
paligap and TheOrgerFormerlyKnownAs DavidEye. thumbs up!

Not every time (I discovered how much work it took) but many times they would do long-form posts that had 3 things in common i've tried to adopt.

1) A passion for the subject matter
2) Informative, detailed and well researched
3) The posts looked good (e.g. the inclusion of graphics, stylized text, etc.) which made them fun to read.

Many of Mara's posts have those same qualities.

A shout out to all the posters here that stimulate interesting musical discussions.

Davideye was an influence for me, too! I used to just lurk, but threads by him and the artist Now known as IAintTheOne made me start posting.....

biggrin Thanks, tA, especially for not pointing out all my mistakes and edits priest

I read anything posted by tA and paligap...even if the title does not immediately intrigue me.....for these reasons: quality subject matter, well written reviews, and knowledgeable opinions.....and also sense of humor biggrin

Thanks!

You definately picked three of the baddest orgers around. The Audience and paligap know lots of stuff from decade after decade (all genres). Mara goes on up into the 90s with great knowledge of the house music.

David is around the same age as my younger brother. I think the hospitals got babies switched back then and gave my brother to David's parents and David's mother's son to my parents. lol

He's bad too. He's got the knowledge on mixing as well as a ton of music. I'll always remember him as The Real Finess.

I'm here to testify that SoulAlive, Aud and Pali are BAD men. All three are very visual with their threads and most often too, with their posts. To say that they know their music is an understatement. David usually always brings extra tidbit info about an artist (who we usually both dig) that sometimes, I wasn't to. I think he and I are the only ones on this site that share a certain fondess for the 70's. We both believe in the magic that was deep during that period and neither one of us has or ever will let go of it.

Aud and Pali;....both of these cats are silly scary. I never ran across to scientists such as these two brothers. Never. Their knowledge of differnt genres and the musicians that are residents of sometimes, obscure lesser known forms of music often leaves me shaking my head. To say that I often learn something new from these cats is also another understaement. Aud and myself share a birthday that's a day apart and plus, he actually met Hendrix.....Pali,...to have someone like that who digs my music and my guitar playing, that coming from him, is a great compliment. A great compliment N'deed! Yes lawd!

This is the Catch-22 of all threads.
Though I agree and appreciate all three, by admitting this, I feel as if I'm agreeing to exclude all the other posters that I also appreciate.

But, If I don't...tA has a tantrum...

You ain't lying. Back when I used to have a computer of my own, I downloaded three or four of his mixes.

A few weeks ago, I went back and listened to some of them and heard this BAD ASS instrumental jam that I had never heard before. I mean, that jam was B.A. Double D. I described it to him and he told me it was "Food Stamps Y'all" by The Ohio Players.

I went to the record store and looked through all the Ohio Players greatest hits CDs (they had no full albums), and the song was on none of them. I had the cashier to look the song up in her computer and it was on a greatest hits compilation full of Ohio Players tracks I had never heard of. I think it may have been a compilation of songs from a record label that the group may have been on before they were on the Mercury label. The cashier is ordering it for me.
