if i took my favorites from both, i'd have a damn fine album.

i like them pretty much 50/50. there's something a bit darker and deeper about "myth takes", but the energy is consistent with the last album.

They are both fantastic, but I like the new one better by a little bit. It is indeed deeper and darker.

I have a big exercise playlist on my IPOD but I think the best songs are from Modonnas Confessions On A Dance Floor album.

basically if it's hard, up-tempo funk or melodic aggro/punk/electro-dance (ministry, NIN, etc.) i'm loving it at the gym. nod

My mom had this workout record when i was in high school. It was so damn funny
to see her stepping in place to stomp by the brothers johnson or can you feel it by the jacksons. It brings back warm memories of my youth.

Have you tried prince's sexy dancer. That is probably one of his funkiest songs.
I like working out to the barkays, mass production, and slave. Unlike some people think, the mp3 player is good to motivate you while working out.

also if i get a new album that i haven't given a proper first listen, the gym is good for that. as boring as doing cardio can get, it's a perfect time for me to lose myself in music i've never heard before, even if it's not necessarily "pump you up" music...i just have to be enthused to hear it for the first time. i was like that with "volta" - SO not a gym album, but it was a great place to introduce it to my ears. nod

On my heavy/intense days its; System of a Down, Coheed and Cambria, Smiff n Wessun,THe Mars Volta, Bloc Party.

On days that involve stretching and calesthenics, its a lot more meditive; Alice Coltrane, Santana(early 70's Santana), Pharoah Sanders, Miles..

Usually uptempo electronica, Rokysopp, Underworld, Chemical Brothers, Basement Jaxx but lately I’ve been listening to a few tracks off of Ciara’s latest.

Nice mentions.....I like pretty much anything by The Prodigy too. Benny Benassi if you're on speed while working out. lol I only have a compilation of his stuff. Some Miami Bass songs are good for fast paced work outs too.

Sometimes I'll just shuffle through my entire IPod & skip around until it feels right (I get bored w/ the same playlists over & over), but I do have 3 workout playlists: a general one (w/ fast & mid tempo stuff for when you want to take it easy), "better workout" & "best workout" (only the best fast stuff). Lots of Janet, Prince, some Goldfrapp, anything that gets me JUICED every time. I love when See Line Woman/Chauffeur/Sinnerman by Nina Simone come on, the latter especially - it's like 10 minutes long & has a fabulous build that keeps me going!
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart
