Usher Issues Warning To R&B's New Class: 'Daddy's Home!'

The article is actually much longer but I didn't feel like copy & pasting the whole thing, here is part of it though:

"R&B superstar USHER has warned those following in his footsteps to stop ripping off his style of music without acknowledging his influence. Usher's last album Confessions has proved hugely influential since its 2004 release, and the 28-year-old is all too aware people are copying his style. He tells MTV News, "You got your artists who find their way through the circuit and are following and are not giving the respect where the respect is due. "If you know (you're) following and biting, then, hey, give the respect. But if you're not, and you're creating your own thing, then you're good. You should just continue to find your own way. "Listen, this is not a game out here, man. You can't come around here and think that you're really starting the game. Understand, when I came up in the game and I found a trail, I was cool. "Bobby Brown went this way, Michael Jackson went this way, Marvin Gaye, he created his little profile and he held to it. I didn't step on those toes. "What I did was find a way and my thing and created my thing. Now you have my thing being built. So I look up, and I'm like, 'OK, I see you all. I see you all in the videos. I see you moving, I get it, but pay the respect, man.'"

-LMAOOOOO. WTF? HAS USHER LOST HIS MIND? He can sing and he's been very successful, but he is so damn arrogant sometimes and for what reason, I don't know.

Usher needs to get off Marvin Gaye's dick. That fool ain't nobody's Daddy so he needs to go somewhere with that shit. I'm not looking forward to his what I call, "sounding like everybody else's" album whenever that dreaded day will be.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Is this real?! Any of it? or is Usher being provocative to get press? I hope it's not the former because he couldn't step on those toes if he wanted to. Well, he did want to. He just couldn't.

Delusion is a fascinating thing.

It really is. I can't believe he said Marvin Gaye "created his little profile" like wtf? Usher needs to stop.

Oh it's very real. Usher is known for his bad attitude.

1. You're right. Usher isn't exactly an original dancer himself.

BUT....

2. Too many young teenage boys of this generation are trying a little too hard to be the next Usher OR Justin Timberlake. And IMO, it's a damn shame that these kids today don't have the kind of parents or grandparents to remind them of their music history.

If nothing else, at least Usher & Justin knows something about Michael Jackson, Prince, and Bobby Brown. But the young kids today hardly have any knowledge of anyone that came before Eminen! And it shows. disbelief

...ATLANTA — Sitting in Jermaine Dupri's Southside Studios, a place where Usher has made so many of his hit records over the past 10 years, the singer was as blunt as ever about the music industry now that his album-making hiatus is over.

"I feel like these kids have gotten a little too disrespectful, and I'm about to get [back in there], so just be ready," he said with a smile...
O.k., it might not be so bad. I didn't care enough to read all/any of that...just want to know if he's got something in the works. Seems he's just doing what people do in a climate where one is so quickly forgotten. It's unfortunate that he (and so many others) don't have a clue about what it is to show respect...Nor do they have an ounce of humility.

I question how a statement as dumb as that can find it's way to press. There's so much stuff out there that everyone has to fight to be heard. If he hadn't said any of that, would we be talking about him now?

It's either Really desperate or Really Really dumb.

Let me say this:

I'M TIRED OF THESE MUTHAFUCKAS!

I've seen interviews by Usher, Chris Brown, Omarion, Lloyd, Bow Wow and the rest of them and they are some cocky bastards. WTF
I saw an interview by Chris Brown and Bow Wow and they basically said they were the best out there. Wow, so because you're on the cover of "Right On!" you think you're the shit?! Come the fuck on!
I have respect for Usher because he's been around for nearly 15 years and still really popular(even though the first years of his career he sucked LOL), he's too damn arrogant.

What happened when artists were humble? damn.....

Right.
Why can't more artists except an award like this?

http://youtube.com/watch?v=j8u5zuToIX8

Instead, they all gotta "represent" and have this look of entitlement. Ick.

Please come back with a new hit album soon MJ...so you can teach these whack artists, how to sing, how to dance and how to accept an award with dignity. biggrin

I like Ushers music from the beginning to now. He's not a newcomer. He's just managed stick around.

I was just listening to "you make me wanna leave" the other day. Sorry, the arrognant asshole has made some descent r&b tracks. shrug

Arrogance is a part of the game for most male artists.

And I'm sorry, MJ is VERY arrogant. lol When were male artist ever really humble in r&B, the 60's? The artists from the 80's to the present have all had their times of arrogance and thinking they are the you know what. Some grow out of it and other's don't.

This is nothing compared to Timbaland's interview where he says people "rip him off", and claims that what he did by stealing someone else's music isn't ripping off... The most bizarre hypocrisy I've ever heard.
