Why, oh why is his performance of (I think) "If you want me to stay" where he tells the band to play a little faster in that amazing voice of his no longer on youtube?  | |

INTENSE! We can't have real TV like that anymore, SLY was baaaad back in the day , Sly Stone told Ali, "GET YOUR HAND OUT OF MY FACE". Although he was high that day, Sly showed where he stood on the issues and tried to translate Ali's rage-Dig it Check me out and add me on:

Actually,backstage before the show Ali unsuccesfully tried to seduce Sly's wife in front of him. That was part of Ali bitterness that show. Sly' son is named after Ali. [Edited 5/6/07 13:33pm] | |

According to Freddie Stone, Ali was playing around and clowing w/ everyone backstage. As soon as he walked out he did a 360 and went militant.
He said that when Sly tried to play with him, Ali chumped him out. Freddie said that everyone in the green room backstage was cracking up. Sly told Richard Pryor (on a later Mike Douglas show) he was upset that Ali put him out like that. | |
