What cause is the money going to? Who actually lost money from the tragedy?

At least Katrina victims actually needed monetary help.

You know, we don't need a song for every tragedy and social failing. If you want to donate money, just donate money. Crappy charity songs should not be an incentive to give.

Oh poppycock. A memorial? Insurance and donations from students at the college and friends of the victims can pay for that. It doesn't require the whole of America's help for it. It was a tragic incident, but come on, it doesn't require hundreds of thousands of dollars to create a memorial.

Maybe the money is going towards bulletproof windows and doors. Anything is possible.

Maybe it SHOULD go towards more thorough psychological history checks before selling someone a gun.

why dont you go live in the Ambler Johnston dorm on campus, the same dorm where the shooting was, re-live the events of 4-16, worry about where your friends are and your own safety, walk across a campus flooded with police, cameramen and reporters in your face, walk by a building on the way to class where 31 of your community were gunned down and then try to move on and continue to live there and complete your education like I DID before YOU decide whether or not we need money for a memorial

You're right. I'm sure some of Virginia Tech's alumni can spring for a memorial. Even if it does cost thousands of dollars. If people want to give donations, I think that some of the money should've went towards the funeral expenses of the victims. I'm sure that some of the familes really had to scrape to make ends meet.

So has anyone heard the song yet? I think I heard a bit of it the other day. Sounded like MJ in the background. Pretty much along the lines of what I expected.

Here's what the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund "include, but is not limited to"

* Assistance to victims and their families
* Grief counseling
* Memorials
* Communication expenses
* Comfort expenses

Of course it won't make it aaaalll better, but hopefully it will help.

you weren't there so i really dont wanna hear from you about what we need or dont need or hear your sarcasm. the money will help pay to fix the damaged rooms, turn the hall where the shooting is into a memorial, pay for the grief cousnelors that came to campus, pay for the buses that picked up families who couldnt afford to come see there kids and transport people to memorials and funerals and the hundreds of other costs. if you dont want to donate, thats fine, but dont give me some bs about what money will do for us, just shutting would be your best gift.

Sounds like insurance expenses to me.

Wait until your city/school/street is filled with bombings so much that they fail to make the news at all. No pop stars offering to raise money for any of my friends in Belfast.

Hey, I've got no problem with the college raising money. I've only got a cynical reaction to R Kelly inserting his boring ass into a cause that doesn't require multi-millions. A private donation would be plenty instead of inflicting more of his crap onto the world.

He wrote I believe I can fly and every shcool graduation has been singing it ever since. R.Kelly is a fantastic talent and he has a lot in common with Prince so don't go putting my man down. If he was really guilty of something he would be in jail by now. Just white folks on a Brothers ass as usual! confused

R Kelly's music fucking sucks and to compare him to Prince is one of the funniest things I've heard in ages. And I ain't white so your last remark is irrelevant!

R Kelly, and Babyface, are responsible for some of the blandest, lamest, weakest, watered-down music to ever fall under the category of r'n'b.
