I dont mind her, though she did say in an interview recently she wanted to "raunch" it up on this album. She doesnt really have any control in her career however, i mean they went out hire some songwriters and they need some sales out of her since theres not much coming this summer, sales wise. She seems to be turning into a mini-beyonce, of course the talent is not the same, Rihanna has that wide appeal however, smart move she did last year was going overseas and touring, and she built a strong base there, this way even if the album sells under a million here it will much more overseas. So in that respect she or her team are very smart in their WORLD wide marketing. The song is catchy, but she is catchy, Shes got all the things needed, shes sexy,cute,young with catchy songs, thats the market. HOWEVER there was a brutal review of this song in Bilboard, not so much on her but on Jayz's rap and i have to agree. They pointed out how hes almost become "pointless" and "Dated" with his work and appearances. But i cant dislike her. As for the video, well being a guy why would i hate on her Sexy Dancing? Its nothing groundbreaking, but its catchy. jay's contribution was so unnecessary on this song. rihanna is cute because it seems like she really thinks she can sing.  i like her style, though. she looks great and no matter how painful it may be to us she at least tries to sing live. | |

It was ok as far as current videos and songs go.
But that being said... Somebody needs to send this video to Beyonce and make her watch it everytime she thinks about doing another half-assed cheesy video where all she does is poke out her ass and swing her weave.  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Why is she so popular? It seems she came out of nowhere and gets more attention than Ciara, Amerie and Mya combined. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off | |

Honestly i think its her age, and that her songs are more POP than RB, plus the image is very similar to Beyonce and its easy to push and Rihanna isnt that independant and at this point in her career she will do what she is told to do. In the case of Amerie and Mya, neither of them are willing to conform, and both of them are very independant though they are on labels, there music is a little more diverse than say Rihannas or Ciaras, and diversity doesnt cut it in todays market place. I guess it's just me. I don’t know any songs by her except that murder song which I thought was absolutely horrific before I even knew it was her. I only like the song because it's kinda different at the moment. She could have went deeper into her pop sounds, but I liked this one right away. the others songs only became catchy after hearing them a 1,000 time son the radio. | |
