Anyone out there hip to SLAPBAK?

I always thought Jara Harris / Slapbak was underrated!

Yup..they're a cool band. I liked the older funky, melodic stuff they did. The stuff they're doing now is so "nu-hip hop-basketball jersey-wearing" generic stuff.

yeah. They're a local LA funk band, but they do some touring on the undercard. They're good, but don't get much "flex-time" when they open. Ya need to getout and see 'em headline where they really bring the funk.

Anyways, here's their website http://slapbak.com/

Good Lawd!

Never heard of Slapbak or Jara, but this is off the scale! Great SOUND! The way he leaves space for well, himself, very refined! Great drumming, even though that's the only instrument he might be overdoing it a little. Bass/guitar sounds great and well played! Thanks!

Love Slapbak, though I only have 2 of their older cds: Fast Food Funkateers and If It Ain't Broke, Don't Funk Wid It. The song True Confessions is what made me notice them, and I've liked most everything I've heard from them since.
