FUTURESEX/LOVESOUNDS LIVE Awright. Saw the clubtour before I got the album and already then this song stood out amongst the pack. I suppose THIS song is why he had John Blackwell and Mike Scott along for that clubtour (dunno if they still play with Timberlake)
But damn, damn, damn, this beat, this song, everything about it is indeed sexy. Sexier than Prince has been in ages. So there is some truth in the sexyback remark, I suppose. LoL What I am curious about is if there are any good live bootlegs of that sublime tour intro; saw a few mobilephone recorded versions and even in that bad quality this song rocks. I will just sit back now and let it all happen, I suppose. Just blandly saying that I wish Prince had recorded this is probablybad, but worse is that it is about Justin Timberlake,it will probably infuriate the music fashionistas and I will have created another thread where they come out in hordes to tell me how they abhor JT. Well, I like half of his album. It makes me wanna dance. And get dirty. In a sweaty way. Woohoo. [Edited 4/28/07 16:52pm]

this song is so unsexy to me. it's so robotic and cold. it's catchy as hell, but sexy? [Edited 4/28/07 16:49pm]

I remember a conversation I had with an Orger once, who claimed he thought Annie Lennox's voice and early Eurytmics work was robotic and cold too. I never understand those claims; her work with The Eurytmics is in my ears warm and bubbling with soul, just using electronics. To me, sexy is kinda the same; that beat, daaaaamn. It makes me hot for music the same way Housequake once did. And still does, or Hot Thing. All electrnic, but not cold; HAWT. Futuresex/Lovesounds is a damn good song and it rawks live; that moment, when the beat started pumping through Paradiso, I knew why I stuck with this fella.

[Edited 4/28/07 16:49pm] i agree in a way. it's like, on a really surfacey level i WANT to like the song because it's got a hip, nasty, electro/peaches-ish vibe to it...but then i listen to what JT is doing and really, it sounds like karaoke to me. anyone could do the vocals to that song. he brings no personality to it. in fact, it would probably be sexier if the song had been given to britney. it just sounds very "fill the blanks" generic to me, even though i think the production of the song is really fun and smooth. it's frustrating. i don't listen to it.

So I suppose you don't have a good live version of it then?

I actually wanted to call it FutureLove/SexSounds but the record company didn't like it or something.

I feel the same and that's why I love early (The ) Eurythmics so dearly. Frustrated, cold but full of soul! These tracks give me more "sexy" feelings than any of those hot R&B climaxes out there... You're saying (for example) "Somebody Told Me" is warm to your ears? . [Edited 4/29/07 2:47am]
