The jewel cases are in the racks , the cd's themselves are placed in a desk behind the counter I bought once in a shop like that Didn't like it. I want my CDs sealed. I have to be the one to deflower them. I don't like that sticky seal in American CDs either. So hard to remove. Pull here. yeah, whatever They do it everywhere here

I don't find it to be much of a seal either, if you can unhinge the bottom of the jewelcase linernotes door and flip it up, then hook it back, like i did at listening stations working at HMV.

For years I lugged around cd towers, but I realized that for me it was all about the music. I do miss a lot of the Prince stuff like the jewel box info and black photos. i keep my prince and bowie CDs in tact and on a CD spinner rack, but aside from some box sets and a select few others, i do the same thing - i keep the disc and the booklet and the rest goes in the trash. I could never ever do that.

Are you talking about that sticky tape across the top of the CD case that keeps it from opening? I hate that shit. I've never understood the purpose since it is already sealed in plastic and the tape is underneath the plastic. Hell, it's hard enough getting that plastic off, then you've got to deal with that damn tape. The plastic is more than enough to seal it. Andy is a four letter word.

A few years ago I was stealin' cds. I'd walk around taking off the tab with 1 hand. I'd get near the door and walk out with nerves of steel. I got caught once though and it became expensive. When I was a teenager, I used to steal 45s from Roses (a Walmart type store back in the day). I would buy one 45 and they would put it in a bag. Then, I would go back into the store with the bag and put every 45 I could into the bag from the R&B Top 20 section (they had their 45s filed that way). Years later, whenever I doubt the existence of God, I just think of what happened when I bought my turntables back in 2001. All my records played fine on them with no scratches or skips whatsover. Then, I would play a particular 45 and it would be scratched to hell and back. Then I would remember that particular 45 being one of the ones I stole back in the day. I have several scratched 45s and almost all of them are ones that were stolen. I can't think of any other explanation than God telling me something since I have taken very good care of my records over the years. Andy is a four letter word.

Fortunately, my local indie record shop gave away a little keychain device...if fits directly the jewel case, you run it along the top, and a little blade inside makes a cut along the edge. The security tape (and plastic packaging) are split down the middle.
Just peel away and apply a little acetone. "I got the devil in me, girl." - 'John the Baptist', Afghan Whigs

Never bother. I usally burn a copy of the original and hardly ever look at the original cd again. Unless it's a prince cd of course.

wow... I was going through
my albums last night and my FISHSCALE has one of those thingthings in it... actually most of the CDs I've bought over the last couple of years have one (esp if bought from Target) I've always been too afraid that it would rip some of the picture another quick question do any of you peel the sticker off of the shrink wrap to place onto the front of the CD case??? I usually do that, if I don't mess the sticker up trying to peel it off... it didn't work too well with MJB's The Breakthrough because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

All the ones I've ever seen have been attached to the top of the outer plastic case. Sometimes, it leaves some sticky residue on the case but that's about it. Andy is a four letter word.
