E Badu takes it back to the ol' school with this track from the upcoming flick Brown Sugar. Pay close attention to the lyrics and you can hear her signify and play off of all kinda hip hop classic phrases.

The song is like a part 2 to Common's "I Used to Love H.E.R." which traced the history of hip hop using a woman as the metaphor. Erykah's song is like the response to it... with lyrics like "you know you rock my world, and you b-boy and i b-girl and you don't stop until the break of dawn" recallin all those classics.

The video is cool with cameos from Soul Sonic Force, breakdancer Crazy Legs, Kool Herc, Public Enemy, MC Lyte, Common, Slick Rick, and a few others.

Yeah I saw the video yesterday. Nice!!! I love Erykah Badu. She said she has recorded 36 songs for her latest album. Look forward to her new recording. I thought her last recording Mama's Gun was masterful.One of the best new R&B artists of the last 5 years.

erykah is my musical voice...I love her music and style. Her last concert here was one of the best shows i've ever seen!!! I'm waiting for the new stuff.

I have pulled Mammas Gun out of the drawer recently and have been listening to it non-stop. The album version of Bag Lady is one of the dopest songs I have heard in a long time. It is so much better than the Dr. Dre mixed version that received radio play (althought at first I liked it better) Her voice, the progression from subtle soul to filthy funk is delicious. Majorly pissed I missed her at Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix last year. Holds about 2k.
Aargh. It was ranked in Phx new times along with P's ONA, Stevie Wonder, Fishbone and a couple of others as the best concerts in PHX in the last 10 years

i like the new Song.overall for Her Career I'm Hit&Miss.She is Alright for Now but I grew up on Betty Wright&Marlene Shaw,etc..&they did the same type of Vibe&Flow back in the day&Better overall for me.but I give Badu Credit for always coming out with a Jam or two that keeps Her Interesting.this is a Good track.
