Yeah! I was raised in Detroit!
My parents saw all of the Motown Greats in their primes. Diana Ross and The Supremes Little Stevie Wonder The Temptations Smokey Robinson and The Miracles Marvin Gaye and many more! I've heard that Saturdays at the Fox Theatre were religious experiences! I recently came across a Temptations DVD of tv performances and was totally blown away. I can only imagine the kind of energy generated in person!

Can I ask how old is your father. If he saw Ray Charles before he became famous, that is a long, long time ago. And for those parents who went to see the J5, how old were they when they went to see them? Because I can't really imagine peeps in their 20s and 30s going to see the J5 when they first started out.

I recall my parents talking about a Jackson 5 concert.
I know my they went to a lot of concerts featuring motown acts. Also, The Temptations, BB King, Oak Ridge Boys(no idea), and my mom's favorite The Platters.
