Had the new album for three days now and I love it. Wasn't sure how I felt at first - 24 new songs can be a bit much to take in, especially in one sitting. But now the songs are starting to stand out and form their own identity.

I think Yo George is gorgeous - a very sombre almost defeated mood with poignant lyrics. Code Red is gorgeous - sounds very Strange Little Girls-esque to me. Father's Son is classic Tori - I could imagine that on Pele. If I have any beef with ADP it is that I wish she'd do more stuff like this. Simple, subtle and graceful - that's why I love her and why she stands apart from everyone else out there. I felt the same way about Garlands on The Beekeeper. How the hell Garlands got relegated to a bonus track when trash like Hootchie Woman and Witness made the final cut I do not know...

Dragon is subtle but after repeated listens I really dig it. Other standouts for me are Velvet Revolution, Smokey Joe and Girl Disappearing.

I feel like the album could do without Teenage Hustling, You Can Bring Your Dog and Body & Soul. I like them but I feel Tori isn't particularly bringing anything new to the table with these ones. They'd make good b-sides or bonus tracks but I don't feel they're up to the standard of the rest of the album.

I'm loving American Doll Posse.

I think it's a really strong album for Tori.
My favourite's on the album are:

That's awesome. I usually don't care for kids singing but they were really good. "Dragon" is one of my favorites from ADP too. I can't sing for shit, but I would've loved to have been in a choir singing Tori songs. Cool teacher.... exposing them to newer music. How did you find that? I haven't gotten a chance to watch the other videos of the choir doing Tori songs.

And be quiet Godsseat! I almost didn't want to buy this once you invoked the "Beekeper". That album to me is the musical equivalent of flaked off paint chips from the kitchen window sill. Soggy Chips! I have no idea what people see in that thing. I really tried to do the lyrics on it but it didn't hit. Nathan, please give me a crash course on that album

I love the whole concept of the 5 perspectives. Are these a new chast of characters or has Tori invoked any of them besides herself in her past work? Musically I find this album to be rich and complex and yet very comforting at the same time. I'll be spending lots of time with these ladies over the weekend in Miami. I'll post more thoughts when I get back

I must admit, I'm very disappointed with how this has gone lately.

The album's been out nearly a week and no one's talking about it. It sucks to be just about the only one here obsessed with it.
