All I can say is that I really love this album, but the concept gets in the way a little bit for me.

Favorites at this point are Teenage Hustling, Bouncing off Clouds, Code Red and Almost Rosey.

Can't wait for the tour!!!!!

i've listened to it several times now but i'm sad to say that i
just can't connect to tori anymore lately.

the songs are good and solid, i can hear that but her new style
just doesn't appeal to me at all.

right now i think this will be the same as with The Beekeeper
for me. i simply won't ever feel the need to play any of it.
except maybe one or two tracks.

initially the album did sound cool to me but i find myself not
wanting to play it anymore since.

damnit, i really was hoping i'd be able to like this since the
new tori release used to be something totally special for me.

sad

not saying it's not a good album. it's just that my taste does
not match what she's doing lately...

neutral

Awright. I started putting stuff in bold and
italics to emphasize I thought the same.

Then I realised it was your
entire message. We hang out too much, I suppose.

Silly thing is, when Nathan asked me to tell him
what I thunk; I used the same phrases to express my not
connecting in an orgnote without ever
reading this. Funny, that.

Except I might have called her the female Joshua Kaddison, though. That
will probably piss Tori fans off. Well, so be it. I suck already
anyways.

So, besides concurring mostly with Isten, and just the blatant Tori-fan-teasing, I actually have a few faves on this album.

I will return to the next songs;
Bouncing Off Clouds makes me think Blondie, a connection I like.
Digital Ghost I like the vocal melody of.
Body & Soul is my instant like song, one you love when you first hear it. It is the track that makes me think Tori needs to record with Trent Reznor. Moody/angry Tori with moody/angry Trent beats.
And that little Programmable Soda waltz is too sweet, I love it.

Thing Isten did not mention; the album is too long. It just is. It seems like ONE good idea spread too thin over a too big canvas. When I listen to this album on my iPod it just fades into one big form, while other albums have songs that stand out.

I was out of work for 6 months, but am about to start a new job at a different bank three weeks from monday. Take care!

2. It's a concept album...5 women. 5 diferent views:

Isabel

Clyde

Pip

Santa

Tori

3. The tracklist is the following:

12. "Body and Soul" (Pip and Santa) - 3:56

You gotta love Tori, recording a duet by herself!

The beekeeper had something similar. On that album, the songs were recorded in five different gardens. I guess her favorite number is five...

I think there were 6 gardens to tie in the the hexagonal shape.

I'm so sick of hearing about this record and yet not actually having heard it myself.

Roll on Monday! I've actually booked the day off work for it. Sad? Probably but I don't give a shit - it's Tori - she's worth it!

I just bought the album today and I cannot wait to listen to it. I would be listening to it right now, if Ian would let me. I am going to have to wait till he is sleeping then I can sneak out and indulge.

Anyone have any sedatives on them? wink

Tori should stop releasing 70+ mins albums cuz the filler tracks just kill the whole record and made it less enjoyable. smile

Hmmm, now there's a sticky for both, Tori Amos and Björk. When will the reign of terror of college undergraduates and their typical taste in music end?
