Very beautiful...everytime I hear the first piano notes of that song I get goosebumps...

Beyonce needs to write her own shit like she says she does...

In the lawsuit, Des'ree and her reps claim that Beyoncé, along with her record company people, originally tried to work out a deal to use "Kissing You". When they weren't satisfied with the proposed terms -- which included not being able to change the title or make a music video for the song -- Beyoncé allegedly blew off copyright law completely, and recorded the song and video without permission. The song was eventually released on Beyoncé's album, "B'Day - Deluxe Edition" on April 3, 2007, with the title "Still in Love (Kissing You)."

How can you tell someone else to not make a music video though?

Umm we all know B wants to get writing credit for any damn thing so why is this big news? Also, she gave Des'ree her credit although B ignored her request so why is she suing when she has a nice piece of change coming her way?

i don't think it's B, i don't believe she's smart enough to know the reasons behind it. It's Poppa Knowles who wants to ensure future revenue when B can't make hits anymore and live off of the writing and publishing royalities.

and she's sueing because it sounds like a breach of contract.

sometimes its not just about money..why can't Beyonce...just write her own music!! I use to really admire this girl..when i thought she was writing her songs (like she claimed)but then as always..the truth came out!! I dont have a problem with artist NOT writing their songs..just dont lie about it..and win 'songwriter' awards..for it, if your not

I figure he plays a part in it too since damn near all of the supposed artists he has on Music World aren't putting out big numbers like Destiny's Child and B do...

contract. it was probably aimed at keeping it from being a hit and claimed as a Beyonce song and left as a album track and leaving it as a song for De'ree.

look at Turn the Beat Around. To most people that was a Gloria Estefan song and they totally forget about Vickie Sue Robinson.

Exactly and both of their career's weren't exactly blockbusters either although Kelly looks like she's coming hard this time around...

Don't tell me they took away the original songwriters' credits?

It just seems like they went against whatever agreement they were working towards.

No...Des'ree and another person are credited it's just that Beyonce added something into the song therefore giving her credit which is why Des'ree is suing her because 1) Beyonce changed the title and added a verse and 2) She also made a video which Des'ree didn't want her to do in the first place...

i don't get all the folks on that site harping at desree for only suing for 150k when she is also asking for the album to be pulled off the market. that actually shows how much integrity she has and that this issue isn't about money.
