Me too. Hope it shows up on some single art later. most likely. so help me out here. i've yet had a chance to get this album, even though she's one of my favourites. so is there in fact a special edition of it? or is it just the funky packaging? what's the difference? because i think they only have 1 version of this at my local store. and i've yet to get Tori's album as well. Dude, run out to your store ASAP and pick these up! They're both remarkable albums. You won't be disappointed. And I think the Volta special edition comes out soon. But it's mostly fancy packaging with a bonus DVD.

Warning: These thoughts are subject to change!
Here are my initial impressions of each song on Volta: 1. Earth Intruders: Great opening single and song. Politically-motivated, percussion-led injection of fun. Björk reminds us that she can write a good pop song. 8.5 2. Wanderlust: Perhaps the most ambitious song on the album, the core of a GREAT song is there, but I can't help but be annoyed by the frenetic, distracting beats. I think a more barren percussion segment would suit the song better. 7.5 3. Dull Flame of Desire: Great lyrics, great accompaniment, great execution. I wish Antony lost the lisp, but even that doesn't detract from this song's awesomeness. 10 4. Innocence: As has been stated, this song reminds me of "I Go Humble" in parts. Another blast of fun and a great candidate for a single. 10 5. I See Who You Are: Sexy, sultry, sparse ballad that rules! It reminds me of "Cover Me", and that's a great thing. 9.5 6. Vertebrae by Vertebrae: Like the horns and the ideas. I feel it's kind of lost between the songs that surround it, but I still like it. 8 7. Pneumonia: Heartbreaking, wonderful ballad. Perfect vocals make this perhaps the best song on the album. 10 8. Hope: Yeeesh. Those melodies irk me on this one. The "what's the lesser..." bits and "suicide bomber" bits make me cringe a bit. Maybe this one will grow on me. 4 9. Declare Independence: That's more like it! Passionate, screeching Björk is always welcome in my book. Obviously linked to "Pluto", this is a balls-to-the-wall anti-imperialist call to arms, executed wonderfully. 10 10. My Juvenile: Pretty, plaintive ballad to end the album. Perhaps it's because it follows the boisterous "Declare Independence", but this song stands out for me the least out of the bunch. I have a hard time remembering it, but I enjoy it when I hear it. 7.5 Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! • Bjork earns her first top 10 album -- and her highest-charting set -- as "Volta" debuts at No. 9 with 43,000. Though she has started with better sales -- "Vespertine" bowed with 75,000 in 2001 -- she has never peaked beyond No. 14 until now. Chalk it up to how it doesn't take much to hit high notes on the chart anymore. And it helps that everyone's been buzzing about Bjork's collaboration with Timbaland on the album's lead single, "Earth Intruders." The beat-heavy song is reminiscent of Bjork's most club-friendly material from the '90s. She performed the single April 21 on "Saturday Night Live." Bjork also headlined the Coachella Festival in Indio, Calif., April 27 before starting her own U.S. tour May 2 at Radio City Music Hall in New York. Last week, on April 8, she was interviewed on NPR's "All Things Considered."

The beginning starts off sorta like the album version, but with horns instead, but the end turns into a crazy mash-up with LFO's "Freak". You must seek it out! this just may go down as the single most brilliant thing I've ever seen live. I seriously have teared up everytime I've tried to describe it to folks. I know I can't declare favorites in my historical lists until I've digested it more, but it's got a good chance. That's exactly how I felt about her performance of "Army Of Me".

To me, the beats seem to be revisiting the volcanic sounds of "Homogenic". And you love that album. Sure, there's a lot going on in that song, but it all locks together because of the beat. It's what keeps the structure in place and the morse code pattern. But perhaps there will be a 'Horns & Vocals' version should it ever get a single release. I'm surprised. I figured this would be one of your favorites. It's probably mine.
