Give them what's due! lol

Y'know, I can't recall ever seeing you put a best-of or favourites ranking together prior to this thread. I guess you're pretty list-adverse, eh?

I just don't know 'em. lol

I'm not really against making lists. I love reading them. And it usually gets me amped up to make my own. But then I forget. I never used to be able to rank anything until Ian badgered me to the point of caving in. Now I quite like it. But I just don't do it that often unless he's around.

Yeah- all 8 Eurythmics albums from the 80s are among my top 100 of all time, whereas only (lol) 6 Cure albums are among my top 100. That said, it's really, really close. 80s Cure would be anybody else's output from any other decade, but the 80s are so stacked that they come in 3rd.

I think Eury has a lot more so-so to crap songs from the 80's though.

I did the 60s early on. I'm having trouble with the 00's since I don't consider most of the newer acts I've gotten into to be among my favorites. I'm kinda old school that way.

Oh, right. That was so long ago I forgot. smile

As for the 00s, who says the acts have had to have released their first album in this decade? What do you think of Tori's and PJ's output in the 00s? Those two would be on your list, right?

Oh yes, of course. But it's hard for me to compare the legends that I love with the newcomers this decade. Things released in the last 10 years by new artists haven't had as much staying power with me as stuff released say from 1998 and before. I love bands like !!!, but it's hard to compare them to even Sade or someone like that. It's weird for me to compare Prince and Bowie to my 90's favorites too. It's an odd mix.
