Erasure's new album must be the 3rd album that I ever liked from them!

This is really shocking. I never liked them...

The only albums that I liked from them were Nightbird and Other People's Songs... neutral

This new one is excellent!

Please save me! I'm becoming a fan of the poor man's PSB! sad

OK now a real reply to this.

First off don't hate for liking Erasure. VInce Clark is great in his own right and has not only started 3 really good groups but writing a lot of really good music.

I have been not feeling Erasure for a while...since really anything post Erasure. I found much of their music contrived and starting to get a bit stale. And can Andy stop titleing songs with Love and Rain in them? lol

That said, I am really looking forward to hearing this. I LOVE the title and the cover. The snippet I have heard is good too. So, I'll be getting this most likely.

Mike, you may want to check out some of their older...better albums. Strong Material can be found anything between Innocents - Erasure. Chorus and Wild I think are my favorites. I have a deep affection for "I say I say I say", though it is not their best. And Erasure's self titled has some songs that are nothing short of masterpieces.

A poors mans PSB they are not!

Funny thing is, the three albums you like are the weakest of their working in my eyes. The new one is better than Nightbird and OPS's but only a little.

The last great work they did was lasts years Union Street. I think their best overall albums are The Two Ring Circus and The Innocents, although I have a strange affection for Wild and I say I Say I say.

I would imagine the Union Street and the Live accompaning CD just released would probably be very good. I have heard accoustic versions of several of their songs and they are always good.

It's okay, nothing special kind of a cross between Chorus and Erasure. Erasure just hasn't matured very well. The band has kind of gotten stagnant.

Lyrically Andy has been writing the same song for the last 10 yrs with little variation. Vince can still serve up the electronic fun, but with out strong lyrics the music just settles into the background.

I haven't listened to Andy's solo CD, so I don't know what thats like, but maybe its time for Erasure to go their separate ways and call it a day.
