Justin will never be as cocky as Kanye West IMO. There are people who have been in the industry for decades who don't have Kanye's level of cockyness. I love how many people make it seem as if JT is the only cocky bastard in the entertainment industry. Now, that's the biggest joke of the day for me.  what's that got to do with anything.? Your putting too much emphasis on playing instruments, MJ was never about that, especially on stage. He was the lead singer at the age of 11 of a group who happen to consist of his brothers, with a very distinctive voice and a unique act. Two of his brothers played guitar and bass. They grew and went onto do their own thing and then MJ finally went solo doing his own thing and influencing a generation of younger artists. I don't think you can compare where MJ was coming from with JT coming from the typically, contrieved boy groups of the 90s and who has obvioulsy been deeply influence by peeps like MJ and prince to such an extent it scary. I can't talk of JT talent unless I see him doing his own thing instead cloning others. well, i'm not comparing them.. i simply wanna see that michael jackson guy play an instrument. bottom line: i don't think michael can play a lick of any instrument. someone prove me otherwise.. i'll b glad to take back what i said. | |

He connects well with and knows how to exploit his target demographic. As such, companies love him and will keep him well-funded. He'll kick up enough controversy to maintain a little grit to unsettle parents and other folks, while still making that target market swoon and buy his stuff.

MJ has been credited on his albums with things like drums, keyboards and guitar, but he's not exactly a confident "musician" for playing live. I'd take a wild guess and say he's of the same or greater ability than Justin Tumberlake (and probably far greater than Madonna's hilarious strumming), but since he's not an expert, why not leave it to the professionals?

I think it is pretty cocky to have 2 guitarist behind you as you hold a guitar and strum one or two chords.
