Talking Book Vs Innervisions Talking Book And Innervisions are two absolutely divine albums that I can't get enough of at the moment.
I was wondering which album do most prefer. I find it really hard to make a choice but if push came to shove I'd go for Talking book.

And more personal I too love BOTH albums. Two of the best albums EVER released by any human. As much as I love Talking Book, (Maybe Your Baybe is WICKED), I lean more towards Innervisions. "All Is Fair In Love", "Livin For The City" (perhaps one of the best songs ever), this album showed folks without a shred of doubt, that Stevie was truly a genius. Bourbon or whiskey? Strawberry or vanilla? Innervisions or Talking Book?
They are all different but alike in that they are excellent. It would be like asking me to chooses between my wife and my childhood sweetheart (Please don't ask )

I read somewhere that Stevie himself once said that Talking Book was a collection of better songs but Innervisions was a better overall statement, more thematically coherent and flowing. I tend to partially agree, but both albums are consistent because there are no flaws or anything weak on those two killer albums. And plus, they are landmarks, man. I mean, you can't possibly go wrong with anything he did at that time, so I can't really pick which one outdoes each other because they are all brilliant. Songs In The Key Of Life is way out there in the stratosphere of musical achievements, though, because that's his true magnum opus and signature work. Innervisions is better than Talking Book. IMO, so are Fulfillingness' First Finale and Songs in the Key of Life. Of course, they're all excellent. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

...
Y'know, I've gone back and forth about that for years, and finally just decided that I can't choose--I love'em both equally. In fact, in my "Top Desert Island Discs" lists, I'd try to sneak them both on as one double album, ... Innervisions is much better. To many ballads on Talking Book, and I absolutely hate You Are The Sunshine Of My Life.

Push to shove, I never thought I'd never have to choose. I think I can finally empathize with Sophie's Choice...
I'd probably go with Talking Book too. "I got the devil in me, girl." - 'John the Baptist', Afghan Whigs

Given that Maybe Your Baby is one of my all-time favorite songs, I guess Talking Book gets the edge.

I would give this album to anyone who didn't know Stevie as, it was my introduction to his work love the whole 2nd half of that album and "Creepin'" (ft. Minnie) is probably my all-time favorite song by Stevie... which it's really hard to pick that "1 favorite" sorta like with Prince, MJB or Chaka wow@ it getting Album Of The Year Grammy it's well worthy... this is my favorite Stevie Wonder album SITKOL is a paper-thin second then Innervisions then Talking Book then Music Of My Mind and then Hotter Than July *what were the hit singles from FFF anybody know?
