LOVE this album! "Situation", "Only You", "Don't Go", and "(Didn't I) Bring Your Love Down" are all just amazing cuts, and the rest of the album isn't too shabby, either.
I think that for the first few Erasure albums or so, Andy Bell really tried to emulate Alison Moyet's vocal style; there are some cuts on "Pop!" that almost sound like Moyet is singing 'em. I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

She probably was, before the remixing. Rumor has it that Vince came up with the Erasure name when in a fit he said "erase her". so goes the rumor. I bought the followup, but it never really grabbed me the way the first album did. Other than "Nobody's Diary", am I missing anything? I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

lol...i was just about to type the same thing. and the Best of was sort of wishful thinking. all you needed was really "UPSTAIRS AT ERICS" unless it was for the remixes. then there's Yazz & Yazoo LOVE ♪♫♪♫ ♣¤═══¤۩۞۩ஜ۩ஜ۩۞۩¤═══¤♣

My first synth pop album
I happened to hear a Yazoo live concert on the radio back in 82 and I just had to go out and buy it. I loved the strength of Alison's voice and the simplicity of the music. It was so different to what I had heard until then. I went back to Depeche Mode debut and then followed both careers: Alison's and Vince's ( and Depeche Mode, Eurythmics, New Order, OMD... )
