Some are repeats that others have already mentioned (some with slight variations) as I started this earlier today.

Jimi Hendrix...

Miles Davis (especially considering the time period these were done in)...

Stevie Wonder...

Herbie Hancock...

The Beatles...

The Rolling Stones...

Aretha Franklin (not really an "album" artist)...

Thomas Dolby...

Earth, Wind & Fire...

...That's The Way Of The World would make it an easy fiver.

Sly & the Family Stone...

Steely Dan...

Weather Report...

Mahavishnu Orchestra (studio albums)...

George Benson...

...maybe more later.

It seems like a lot of the big guns have been covered, so let me go with one of my favorite acts, The Brothers Johnson:

Look Out for No. 1 (1976) | Right On Time (1977) | Blam! (1978) | Light Up the Night (1980)

[Edited 4/7/07 23:17pm]
THE TRAFFIC JAMMERS, The Org's house band: VAINANDY -- lead singer; NAJEE -- bass; THE AUDIENCE -- guitar; PHUNKDADDY -- rhythm guitar; ALEX de PARIS -- keyboards; Da PRETTYMAN -- keyboards; FUNKENSTEIN -- drums. HOLD ON TO YOUR DRAWERS!

I listened to these last night, and I would definitely rank this as one of the best 4-albums in a row in rock history:

Beggars Banquet - Let It Bleed - Sticky Fingers - Exile on Main Street

I mean... that's hard to beat cool

Yeah, that's probably the gold standard as far as great runs go, though I'd make the case for Dylan (see below) and I'm sure Stevie Wonder's '70s run will have a lot of advocates as well.

Bob Dylan

Bringing It All Back Home
Highway 61 Revisited
Blonde On Blonde
John Wesley Harding

Beach Boys

Wild Honey
Friends
20/20
Sunflower

The Kinks

Face to Face
Something Else
Are the Village Green Preservation Society
Arthur

Can

Tago Mago
Ege Bamyasi
Future Days
Soon Over Babaluma

The Fall

Grotesque
Slates
Hex Enduction Hour
Perverted By Language

Al Green

Let’s Stay Together
I’m Still in Love With You
Call Me
Livin’ For You

It shouldn't have. If The Tour counts, you could've just gone with What's the 411?, What's the 411? Remix, My Life, and Share My World.

Now, at the risk of being pelted by tomatoes:

R. Kelly: 12 Play, R. Kelly, R., TP-2.com

BTW, my preferred Beatles streak is Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Magical Mystery Tour.
