you heard ELO in that mika song? interesting. i don't hear that. then again, i think the group grandadddy sounds a lot like ELO, which is a reason i like them so much. maybe i just have a weird ear.

OOOH, that part annoys me to no end! it reminds me of that skit on SCTV where the two rednecks would have someone come on and sing, then they'd blow them up. they had barbra streisand on once (andrea martin played her) and they made her explode during a high note and they said "oooWEE she blowed up REAL good!" that's what the mika high singing reminds me of. lol

i was listening to really wild stuff then, like skinny puppy and ministry and the residents and freaky styley stuff like that. i think it was a reaction to all the junk being played on the radio at the time, because i was a teenager and i needed something to rebel against, and my hippie mom was too cool to go the usual route, so i couldn't rebel against my parents. i got most of my cool music from her anyway. lol

Yes, I got into the industrial music around 1990. You're so lucky, my parents were born in the 1930s, so they listened to shit like Roger Whittaker, Anne Murray, and ollllld instrumental garbage.

i guess it's easier to sniff out the really cool interesting stuff when the alternative choice is so lame. kinda like recent years! when industrial music was popular, it was a great time. you could go out to clubs and dance to music that wasn't totally lame.

I remember when The Downward Spiral came out. This dj would get pissed at me because I would always request Closer. He finally told me one night, "I'm not playing that anymore, NIN sucks and they're not ever going to be popular"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Dumbass.
