Stacy Lattisaw..........I LOVE HER! Chime in with your memories I use to and still DO love me some Stacy Lattisaw man what a VOICE.....I have all of her stuff from vinyl to cassettes to cd's.....I remember dances at friends homes in their basements and slow dancing to Let Me Be Your Angel, Love on a Two Way Street, and dancing to Block Party and Dynamite...Those were the days when singing mattered and no young vocalist was a tramp or ho to sell records just PURE TALENT. If she was recording today i would purchase her stuff, unfortunately she is not recording instead raising her family and happily married...Take a walk down memory lane with me on this ONE.....Don't Throw it All Away.

my favorite songs by her...
"Dynamite" (1980)---this is the first song I heard by her,in the summer of 1980.It got alot of airplay in my area. "Let Me Be Your Angel" (1980) "Love On A Two-Way Street" (1981) "Don't Throw It All Away"(1982)---her 'Sneakin Out' album is her best work, imo. This lovely ballad was the first single. "Attack Of The Name Game" (1982)---this track is alot of fun! "I Could Love You So Divine" (1982)---MY FAVORITE STACY LATTISAW SONG! Her vocal is amazing on this one....they really should have released it as a single!! "Million Dollar Babe" (1983)---Stacy goes New Wave! A fun 80s track that deserved alot more pop exposure than it received. "Block Party" with Johnny Gill (1984)---I remember her duet album with Johnny Gill.It was a big hit in the summer of '84.I liked all three singles. "Baby It's You" with Johnny Gill (1984) "Perfect Combination" with Johhny Gill (1984) "Nail It To The Wall" (1986) "Jump Into My Life" (1986) She had a good 10-year run beginning in 1980.She was a constant presence on R&B radio throughout the 80s and her singles have held up quite well.

I only have two of her CDs, "Sneakin` out" and "With you", both great albums.
I`m crazy about the songs "Young girl" and "Guys like you (give love a bad name)"

They've re-released a lot of her albums on CD last year.
I always liked Perfect Combination and Miracles. And her later stuff (Nail it the Wall) which was produced by BrownMark I believe.

Up until last year, I had never heard of her. She goes to my church apparently. I've never heard any of her old stuff but she sings from time to time at church, sometimes with her daughter. She has a husky voice kinda like Toni Braxton.
She goes by Stacy Lattisaw-Jackson now. [Edited 3/5/07 8:22am] How can I live 4 love? I'm calling!!!

Don't have very many memories of her outside of hearing Let Me Be Your Angel and then her cover of Love On A Two-Way Street (with Narada's fine production) and then finding out she was only 13!
It still hard to believe that these lines... Look at me, I have fallen so in love with you Please don't leave Stay around, let me tell you all the things I feel Won't you please ...were delivered so convincingly by someone that young. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. You remember as much as I do. I loved those tracks. Where I grew up, they didn't play the Stacy and Johnnie Gill tracks much. I didn't learn of them until I got to college and watched vintage videos on BET. I did remember some of her Motown work. I didn't care for Nail It To The Wall and the What You Need album. I loved Where Do We Go From Here (which was my high school class song).

I remember me and my friends raving to "Jump to the Beat" and I love "two way Street", but other than that I don't know what else she has done. What made her stand out for me was that she was only about 14 when "Jump to the Beat" came out. [Edited 3/30/07 15:09pm]

I used to know her half sister who lived in Toledo, Ohio during the early 80's. Her sister moved there from Baltimore. I suspected that when her career stalled, she moved back home to be near family.
