Metallica- Metallica get outta here...I would have thought you'd sooner have your fingernails pulled out with pliers than listen to a metallica album. TV on the Radio- Return of Cookie Mountain[/b]
this is a lock I have not yet been able to pick - the debut as well, for that matter. It sounds fine whenever I start to play it, but I cannot maintain my focus on this band over the course of an entire album. I'm more than willing to believe I just need to get in the right frame of mind, though.

Jimi Hendrix Experience- Axis: Bold As Love Jimi Hendrix Experience- Electric Ladyland Metallica- Metallica Huh? I've always been intrigued by Jimi Hendrix. I've actually listened to the first 2 and quite like them, even if I don't understand the whole contextual picture. I may start a thread asking the org experts to weigh in. And you know I like Metallica! Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

Nope, I quite like what I know of Metallica, for what it's worth! I figure this is a good place for me to start, as it contains the highest number of songs I know. I always thought you didn't like him. When I bought like 5 of his albums back in '94 you were like, Eh.

I always thought you didn't like him. When I bought like 5 of his albums back in '94 you were like, Eh. Never! He used to even rank among my top 100 artists before I really had 100 artists to fully love. Perhaps I was afraid of it being from the 60s a bit, but I've never disliked Jimi Hendrix. Hmm. News to me! Before I knew about Bowie, The Stooges and The Velvet Underground, the trio of Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and The Doors were the only artists I thought I'd like from the 60s. So what are your initial impressions of the Hendrix albums? Great guitar work and songwriting. "Hey Joe" is amazing. I think I prefer Axis: Bold As Love as a cohesive whole, but I quite like both, even if I don't fully understand them, if that makes any sense. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! What do you mean by understand? It'll take awhile to break in any new album. I don't quite have the context to understand the full impact of what I'm hearing. It's easy to listen 40 years later and say "Wow- this sounds really cool", but I don't know enough about the music from around the time to understand where it exactly fits. But I do quite like it so far. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

does that really matter though? I don't affect my enjoyment of it at all, but I know they are important albums and as such, I'm curious to understand the context.
