I would bet that I'm probably Ernie's biggest fan on this site just strictly basing it on the fact that I've talked the most about him and have written the most threads on Ernie. The cat is grossly underrated. He's a MAJOR influence on me as a lead guitarist and as I've stated on here in the past, is the most responsible for carrying Hendrix's torch not only into the 70's but carrying it into black radio and black folks homes. Tru...also "Ain't givin' up no love"....the sustained notes that feed back are brilliant...i've been saying it for years...his timing and phrasing are the closest thing to Jimi's. Ain't Givin' Up No Love This Mornin'
Hope You Feel Better Love Rhythm Guitar on Coolin' Me Out Love Fever Ballad of the Fallen Soldier Midnight Sky Voyage to Atlantis Back to Square One Rising From the Ashes Summer Breeze Need A Little Taste of Love Tell Me When You Need it Again Who Loves You Better Rhythm Guitar on Insatiable Woman Blue Rose Plus, he's got one of the coolest SOUNDS - totally his own thang. Speaking of which, I think it shows how badass Ernie Isley is that Roger Mayer himself custom made effects for Ernie to use/experiment/record with. "3 plus 3" and "Go For Your Guns" are Ernie's masterpieces. He picked up the ball in the 70's after Jimi left. I'm really hoping he'll put something out while Ron is locked up.

Ndeed!! BTW, I still trip on the fact that he can lay equally good left- handed as well as right-handed --- that still kills me (I can't play withh either, ) ... " I've got six things on my mind --you're no longer one of them." - Paddy McAloon, Prefab Sprout

Make that his 2nd biggest fan bro-ham. I possess that title. After Jimi transversed to the the Outter Limits, we needed a Guitar Savior and Ernie was it. He IS without a doubt the closest we have to JMH. There are others who try,but no cigar. After all Ernie Jimi lived at the Isley`s home for awhile. Can`t you feel the power? The Isley`s played @ the Hampton Roads Jazz Festival around 2000-01 and after the show Ernie threw his guitar pick to the crowd and I got. Fly on Ernie! As for best solos, check these out: "Say you will", the end part of "Midnight", Atlantis, and the list goes on and on.

One solo that I intentionally left off of my fave Ernie solo just to see if anybody else would mention it and I'm surprised that no one had is the solo on "Under The Influence". If ya'll haven't heard it, PLEASE check it out. I think the title alone is refering to Jimi. Isley's playing on this is one of his best. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz.
