James Brown vs. Gene Chandler (There Was A Time) w/audio

I just found this piece on youtube. Its a battle between two soul heavyweights, Gene Chandler and the late-great James Brown.

Which do you find better, the original by JB (1967) or Gene's version (1968).

James Brown hands down.
Gene's vocals/screams and dance moves are super-weak on this tune.

He should stick to being the Duke of Earl and leave the King of Soul alone.
