If a band is still gonna record new albums than they wanna play the new songs, not saying they shouldnt play famous hits, but its really a tough call. I remember being really upset with PRINCE on the Emancipation tour because here he had a 3cd set and he played 4 songs from it, and just seemed to roll out the hits as usual. So ive seen both ends of this spectrum, during DURAN DURAN's Pop Trash tour they played 8 songs from the new album. Usually i wanna hear the new stuff, I remember seeing Elton John a few years back and it was like the 10th time i had seen him, and honestly all i wanted to hear was the album the last thing i wanted to hear was "Your Song" again. But i understand why they keep hits in and keep them out. Also, please remember in this case it's Def Leppard touring with Journey, sponsored by VH1 Classic. Not exactly them trying to make a come back with a new album at least half the audience didn't even know was out. If the album was selling, and they went out with a different sponsor and some new act opening it would've been understandable. And 4 songs from it would have been more than enough, but they did at least 6 iIrc. The comment he made just further infuriated me. Ask where they're going, they'll tell U – "Nowhere"

Thankfully the other members of the Ronnettes (who Ronnie all but ignored during her speech) saved the day with their words/speeches. Unfortunately, after that spectacle, I turned. So I did not see anything else.
ronnie spector is a little koo-koo for cocoa puffs, i'm afraid. Hell you'd be a little off too after having been married to Phil Spector. Btw- has he gone to jail for murdering that woman at his house yet? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Legendary producer PHIL SPECTOR tried to prevent THE RONETTES from being inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame by writing a disparaging letter to its nominating committee. Spector, who goes to trial later this month (MAR07) accused of the murder of actress LANA CLARKSON, produced the The Ronettes and was once married to frontwoman RONNIE BENNETT. In a letter dated 11 July 1994 and recently obtained by Bennett's lawyers, Spector wrote: "My first objection to The Ronettes is that they did not record! Of all the recordings they made, only the lead singer appeared. "Secondly, I do not think they made the contribution required of some to be in the Hall Of Fame, nor do they have the body of work that would qualify them for induction." But Bennett has rejected Spector's protests, saying, "He's an angry and unhappy man, and he hasn't been successful since I left." KISS leads ALL American Bands in total number of career gold records. As for International Bands, Only The Beatles & The Rolling Stones have more career gold records than KISS.

But I want KISS in the HOF first! Totally agree!!! If we're talking about influence,Kiss was the influence of a lot of Rockbands! I think it's a good thing 2 induct some hair metal bands, a genre that gets no respect since day one!! If they induct The Crue and Def Leppard,I don't think they can ignore Bon Jovi, wich imo is the light-version of Kiss/Crue. Hall&Oates deserve 2 be in the Hall also. I feel that metal has been discriminated by pop music since the last 60's but at the turn of the 80's grunge & metal hit back destroying stupid glam metal & starting the ignoring of pop
metallica, pantera, soundgarden, slayer, Nirvana, Alice in chains, rage helped destroy it & metal is still getting diss to this present date. No matter how hard a metalhead sings on an idol show the judges won't let em thought. But they can say in defensed screw this im going to metal world & outdo the winner It took black sabbath 8 times to get in the rock hall. And pop music are still giving the cold shoulder to metal & prog rock Seriously: rush, genesis, King Crimson, yes, Judas priest, motorhead, iron maiden, def leppard (well they are nwobhm),deep purple, Alice Cooper just to name a few of the bands that have been continually snubbed of rock highest honor these bands are innovating, influential & memorable So to induct someone like Percy sledge or the ronettes over rush is just bloody stupid These bands have done better shit than Fred durst, or stupid britney spears or Olivia "I'm a fucking loser cause Madonna & kylie dethroned me" newton-john But in the next few years the world be seeing metallica, anthrax, slayer, megadeth & pantera (rip dimebag) get inducted (later on NIN & flaming lips & powerhouse grunge acts) & i would like to see some of those prog rock/metal bands get inducted in the new few years. Tull & genesis have been worthy since 1993 & judas priest since 1999 And god forbid the rock hall does not induct artist like: Samantha fox, mariah carey, Cher, limp Bizkit, tiffany or milli Vanlli otherwise ill be kicking more wood than Bruce lee ever did
