BJORK - "VOLTA" MAY 7TH!!!!!!

This was just posted on bjork.com
http://www.bjork.com/

Volta is the name of the album and the date is May 7th. The Press release reads thus:

"Musical innovator Björk releases her next studio album ‘Volta’ on May 7th 2007.

‘Volta’ is Björk's sixth studio album and follows the release of ‘Medúlla’ in 2004.

Featuring ten brand new and original tracks ‘Volta’ is entirely written and produced by Björk.

In the role of producer Björk has brought in various other musicians to work on her songs and ‘Volta’ features some of her most interesting collaborations so far with Antony Hegarty (Antony And The Johnsons) singing on two tracks, and Timbaland (Jay-Z, Missy Elliot etc) working with Björk on beats that she created for three further songs.

Other artists that feature on ‘Volta’ include electronic pioneer Mark Bell of LFO and two unique drummers – Chris Corsano (the improvisational drummer who has worked with Sonic Youth amongst others) and Brian Chippendale from Lightening Bolt.

Björk also brought in two acclaimed African artists for ‘Volta’ - Toumani Diabate, the Malian kora player and Konono No1 the experimental band from The Congo who won a BBC World Music Award in 2006. She has also put together her own 10 piece female brass section of Icelandic musicians who play on three further tracks. Meanwhile Chinese pipa expert Min Xiao-Fen plays on one song."

So it read! And now we can start counting down: One, 2, three, four, 5, ..... etc

Certainly strange, I'm always happy when bjork releases something new.
I usually get my hands on it, play about twice and then I shelve it, not knowing what 2 think.

I think of myself as a bjork fan, but I'm very rarely listening to anything from her.

I'm excited about the new album

I was just getting used to "Graphos" too.

I was also kinda hoping that the album would be pushed back a bit too. Tori and Bjork a week apart is gonna be too much for me.

yeah, i remember 'debut' coming out then, but dry was 93? i totally remember getting 'rid of me' when i was in college, and i graduated at the end of '93. didn't 'dry' come out before 'rid of me'? confuse

i'm fuzzy about when post came out. was it the very beginning of 95? i remember listening to it when i first moved to NYC, which was the very beginning of '95. i definitely remember 'to bring you my love' coming out that spring, cuz i saw her and tricky play at roseland that summer. love

There were thirteen tents and there were thirteen million ants eating each tent and each of the ants carried a little medallion with a picture of, like, a kewpie doll, and the medallions were crying and telling the ants "don't you eat those tents! You're bad ants! BAD!" But the ants wouldn't listen? And then, they all get the indigestion? Sour stomach, you know? And they vomit up rainbows and 13 million billion leprechauns appear from the ground and produce eggs from their mouths, which of course hatch and that's the origin of the word VOLTA, and I have to go now because Yoko Ono is dropping by to coat my tongue in blue latex and then we watch Norbit.
