Really funny review from the Danity Kane/PCD/Christina Aguilera tour opening

Well i really kinda felt bad for Danity Kane, because the tour may have just started but their reviews have been brutal and really mean at times. Reviews for PCD and Aguilera have basically been raves, though some have pointed out that Aguileras set is a little short time wise. Basically Danity Kane is opening and playing 20-25 minutes, PCD have been doing 45-60 minutes depending on the venue and Aguilera has been doing 80-90 minutes.

The first review i read from Houston was Brutal, mainly on Danity Kane or as they called them Danity PAIN! Basically the reviewer said Danity Kane is exactly what is wrong with RB/Pop Music today. 5 wannabe divas step up to the mics ALL TRYING TO OUTSING and UPSTAGE each other and all failing horribly. Much more positive was the reviewer when speaking on PCD, he mainly said PCD performs like they know what they are doing and know what they can do well, mainly sexy moves and well trained lead singer taking charge. The reviewer pointed out how Danity Kanes problem is that they have 5 vocalists who all wannabe leads and none of them are qualified for it, PCD on the other hand is equipped with 1 qualified Lead singer and the others balance her well and keep the audience entertained with their own personas, KANE doesnt have a personality at this point. As for aguilera the only negative thing that was pointed out was her set list time held to about 80-90 minutes, the reviewer said they should scrap DANITY PAIN and have aguilera add 20-30 minutes to her shows.

Here are a few shots of PCD and Aguilera from one of the shows

Well obviously im going to see this show in NYC, for PCD but i really think im going to like christina too.

The main problem with them is that they all are trying to be lead singers, that just doesnt work. I know people complain that PCD seems just like a Nicole show, well shes the lead singer and the others arent, they are the background vocalists occasionally getting lead parts in verses. The reason why most of these groups dont work, is because everyone is trying to be "a diva", trying to be the one in the limelight, steal the show. Honestly i dont think Danity Kane will have a second cd, my guess is 1 or 2 will go solo and try to do something that way. I know "diddy" thinks heas a mastermind and thinks he is a genius for throwing these girls together, but you cant throw 5 girls in a group that all wanna be "leads", and the thing is none of them have "it" to be the lead of group. When i have talked to Nicole of PCD ,i did ask her why didnt Edens Crush work, and she said straight out, that we all wanted to be the "lead" girl and at that time none of us had "it" to be leads.

it worked for enVogue wink

that was the concept behind putting them together and it worked for a time, when everyone realized that cindy was the "lead" it all feel apart. I always preferred dawn as a lead.

45 to 60 mintues of the the Pussy Cat Dolls and Christina doesn't do half that time? Sounds almost like an ensemble tour rather than Christina having opening acts. Maybe that speaks about the tour industry in general that one star can't pull in that many asses so you need popular (PCD) or semi-popular (Dannity Kane) to help. Hell, even Justin Timberlake bringing in rather high profile pop star like Pink to almost share the billing speaks volumes, no?

I totally agree, and honestly i havent seen Box office reports, but i dont think the shows so far have been sell outs, at least not in the bigger markets. When i heard PCD was touring in the Usa with Christina i thought it was cool and figured they would play 45-60 minutes and Christina would do 2 hours since she has 3 albums (one of them a double), but then Danity Kane was added, which really made no sense to me, i mean i dont hate them or anything like that it just seemed like a way to boost ticket sales. In the UK though things were a bit different, PCD was headling, with rihanna opening and each playing longer sets and selling out shows in european markets. I think it clearly shows the lack of "people" just wanting to go see shows in the USA. To be honest i dont see why Christina Aguilera at this point needs 2 opening acts, I felt the same way about Mariah's tour when i had to deal with Busta Rhymes and or Sean Paul, i mean you have 10 albums and you need an opener at this point. Opening acts are supposed to be used when the headliner is just starting out, maybe only has an album or two, but i think when you are past 5-6 albums and you have been touring a bit, its time to play a full show.
