Old-school artists covering contemporary songs

This should be a fun exercise. It's common to hear newer artists make covers of older songs, but what if we could go back in time and bring some of those artists to cover today's songs.

For example, let's take the 1960s Ray Charles and have him cover, say, a John Legend song. Or the 1970s Rolling Stones record a U2 song, Here are the rules:

1.) It has to be an artist whose prominence came before 1980.

2.) It has to be a song that was recorded no earlier than 1990.

Fun Topic

Sarah Vaughan (older) - Take a Bow - Madonna
Bessie Smith - And I am Telling You (since it's song of the hour) and maybe some Christina songs.

I'll try some artists in the soul vein:

* The Jacksons from the "Destiny"/"Triumph" era remaking Usher's "U Don't Have to Call" and "Caught Up"

* Marvin Gaye from the mid-1970s remaking Prince's "Adore"

* Teddy Pendergrass remaking Johnny Gill's "My, My, My"

* David Ruffin remaking John Legend's "Save Room"

* Eddie Kendricks remaking Robin Thicke's "Lost without U"

* Sylvia of "Pillow Talk" fame remaking Ciara's "Promise"

Cool, I especially like the Chic/Zhane one. I'll add these:

Anita Baker doing Toni's "Another Sad Love Song", "Breathe Again" and "Love Shoulda Brought You Home".
