INXS part ways with SONY

Not sure if it was mentioned a few months ago when it happend, but INXS has parted ways with SONY after one album. They currently are on TOUR in Australia, with supporting acts SImple Minds and Arrested Development. Their leaving Sony was mutual, they were only signed for one record and Sony got their moneys worth, the album sold well in America going gold, and in many other countries. Now being a die-hard INXS fan from day one, i had trouble at first accepting someone other than Michael singing lead, but once i saw interviews with INXS members i realized that "Elegantly Wasted" was going to possibly be Michaels last work with them anyway, also band members have clearly said that "Switch" would have been the same musical feel with Michael too. Some say they have kept on to cash in? Cash in on what? if they wanted to cash in they could have gotten a new singer and new album a year after Michael died, not 8 years later. INXS is very wealthy, Elegantly Wasted was their first CD with Universal, who had signed them to a 30 million dollar deal, including some publishing rights. All that money is theirs and Michaels, which is obviously going to his daughter since both of the girls parents are dead. As they said "replacing" michael is not what they are doing, I mean why should they stop going on because of this, they took 8 years to grieve, many of the band had serious bouts with depression over Michaels death, but you have to go on. This is a Band not a Solo show.

"We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F
