Shoking Madonna interview: She reveals that she is at this moment really working with Pharrell!

Madonna had an exclusive chat with Larry Flick of Sirius Radio today about the release of her Confessions Tour DVD.

Their chat turned out being one of the most entertaining recent interview with the Queen of Pop, spanning from discussing her tours, her fans, Madonna as a performer, way she composes music, and what is she listening the most to at the moment.

Asked about her favourite tour Madonna said she'd go for her most recent one, The Confessions Tour, while Larry told her he loved the Drowned World Tour a lot.

Madonna also talked about how much fun has been for her to perform on a catwalk and two satellite stages in this last tour, something that made her feel like she was performing in a club instead of as an arena.
They also talked about the message in the Live To Tell performance and how people got it.

Larry asked about how she feels when she plays guitar on stage and Madonna told him Confessions is the tour where she performed on guitar the most, playing electric guitar in two songs and performing a third one acoustic. She would love to play guitar even more but her director always tells her that people want her to move around if she's playing guitar she needs to be standing behind a microphone instead.

She also plays guitar when she composes new songs and that's what she is doing right now.

Larry told Madonna he would go crazy for a full rock 'n roll record and asked her if that would sound crazy to her to what Madonna replied with a tongue in cheeck laugh and said "No, not at all, I'll go downstairs and tell Pharrell about that right now."

It would be cool to go back to her Detroit root with more of that and - she said - "I'll keep that suggestion in my back pocket".

Larry asked Madonna about editing the DVD and she said she usually doesn't like too much to watch herself - especially after months of rehearsals and show time, but she's happy that the DVD captures the show the way she wanted to be captured and her proud moments are those when she's watching other people's work, the dancers' confessions, the Sorry interlude images, more than watching herself.

Asked about her current favourite record Madonna revealed there are two records she's been listening to a lot - the one from Gnas Barkley and the Justin Timberlake one that is also her favourite one to workout to.

Madonna and Larry also had a nice chat about her relationship with her gay audience - that was again filled of smart and funny quotes.

And as a lot of people say they want to be Madonna, Larry asked her about who she would like to be instead, and she mentioned the likes of Gandhi, Martin Luther King and John Lennon.

this is actually good news to me. i would rather see her doing r&b than euro disco cheesy dance music. human nature is one of her best songs ever imo!

At least Madonna is always trying new things working with others unlike some we know whose music has grown stale over the years.

madonna has a knack (at least where my tasts are concerned) to release a great album followed by one i just don't care for. i loved the debut, didn't care much for virgin. i loved erotica, didn't care much for bedtimes stories. i loved ray of light, didn't care much for music. the exceptions to this rule are american life followed by confessions, and like a prayer followed by erotica.

i'm almost expecting to not like the next record. lol that said, i like pharrell's work with gwen so i think maybe madonna could do another great record (so long as she doesn't go for a bedtime stories II).

How boring. Madonna is too isolated from pop culture these days. She does things about 2 years too late. That video "Jump" with the jumping scenes in it was so dated. This is also a very bad dated move.

i'm not worried about it. after all, she was able to pull "Take A Bow" and "You'll See" out of Babyface and David Foster, respectively, at the height of their over-saturated tiredness, so you never know, it could end up great.

agreed...i actually like when madonna incorporates soul music into her music. not that pharrell is soul but at least it won't be euro techno beats that she is singing over.

that. sh*t. was. tired.

even though everyone and their poodle has worked with the neptunes I'm really excited about this collaboration because I know what the neptunes are capable of creating when they're pushed by the artists they work with. And I know madonna involved in the creative process will make it all sound great

so far, there are rumors that Madonna will be working with these producers:

Pharrell---it's pretty much all but confirmed. They're already writing songs together.
Stuart Price---ditto
Timbaland---he mentioned that she called
Dangermouse of Gnarls Barkley---I actually hope this happens.I love what he did with Gorillaz.

hmmm it seems that she's doing a different type of album this time....electronica/dance,but also some R&B thrown into the mix,and some rock as well.I'm gonna withhold judgement until I hear it.

There's also speculation that she will finally work with Moby. The two of them have always planned to work together, but scheduling conflicts prevented it from happening.Madonna was recently seen leaving the gym with a CD-R of Moby tracks. Some folks are speculating that he sent her some instrumental demos to write lyrics to.

hmmm

I thought this was a dig at Janet. lol

I'm looking forward to her work with Pharrell. Alot of the unreleased tracks and things he's done with N.E.R.D. are interesting. I think Madonna could bring the best out of him and he could bring something a little new to her. I just like that she works with different people and while it's not always great, it's new and different and I don't think in the last 10-15 years that there are any two Madonna albums alike.

This subject line should be choking Madonna... ugh... SO over her....

Just the thought of her "playing guitar" is enough to make me want to gag...

The reason she has to "re-create herself" every year is because she is one big
