Janet Jackson -- Young Love http://www.youtube.com/wa...ed&search=
I found this video by accident. Enjoy. And yes, Janet was a better vocalist in the very early 80's!

You know what? I'm not linking anyone to anymore videos on Youtube because they always disappear. While the content remains UNAVAILABLE on commercial formats.
Watch it will happen to this video too, yet I can't purchase it anywhere. [Edited 2/21/07 0:47am]

This and Come Give Your Love to Me are my early Janet jams. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I hope there's a way for A&M/Universial Records & Virgin/EMI to find a common ground and consider releasing a Janet Jackson Box Set that will include these lost R&B cult favorites like Young Love.

Keep hoping Virgin/EMI would go for it because they're still trying to get some money back from that 5 album, $100 million advancement deal they gave Janet. They're struggling more than before right after dropping a lot of artists from their label (....I think Van Hunt was the most recent incident).

I don't see what's the problem, she was still on the same record label when she made her first two albums. She just keeps on acting like "Control" was her first album with album titles like...."Design of a Decade" and "20 YO". It seems to me that she has a problem with jams like....."Don't Stand Another Chance", "Young Love", "Come Give Your Love To Me", "Say You Do", and "Fast Girls" that were known mainly to the R&B world. The songs are certainly well known enough to be acknowledged and included on a greatest hits collection instead of her acting like 1986 (her introduction to the pop world) was her first album. I see her 10 and 20 year anniversary albums as a slap in the face and a finger thrown to the R&B world that was buying her records before "Control". Andy is a four letter word.

I also remember that Joseph Jackson was still business managing Janet's career at the time & he has a lot of "control" over the musical direction that he wanted her to go. I wonder if THIS is part of the reason why she never acknowledge any of the songs from the Janet Jackson or Dreamstreet album. BTW, I have a feeling that Joseph is a true funk soldier at heart. He's the only person to admit publicly that Janet made a mistake for changing her sound.

Like so many other artists, once they crossover, they are changed forever. BTW, I have a feeling that Joseph is a true funk soldier at heart. Did he have some input on The Jacksons' albums such as "Triumph" and "Destiny"? Those contain some of the funkiest jams by any of the Jackson family. Andy is a four letter word.
