Mika - Life In Cartoon Motion

I just read an article on Mika and checked out his album "Life In Cartoon Motion". What a talent! And even more facinating... no thread on the org? Or did I miss the hype?

i have his album - he really is pretty talented...great voice. the music is a little too chirpy and perky for my tastes, but as bubblegum goes...it keeps its flavor for a while, i guess. thumbs up!

I'd just change the lyrics from "she's a player and a down right bore" to she's a player and down right whore."

Musically I enjoy Big Girl but lyrically its just a lame Fat Bottom Girl rip off. Its a great debut cd, I'm more curious to see how he grows.

Right now he's just a happy Rufus, which isn't a bad thing.

I heard GK and the whole of LICM...

Uhhh...

I'm not trying to get sloppy, but I'm just not feeling his CD.

MIKA's a buzzbuzzbuzz artist that heads constantly namedrop. And he really has the advantage of the UK music press.

An artist who is sorta similiar to MIKA who's kinda under the radar is Gotye out of Australia. He has a pretty nice debut out with a great track called "Learnalilgivinanlovin" over @ his myspace :: http://www.myspace.com/gotye

Yes, Yes I do!! The more i listen to the disc the more I'm finding myself attracted to it. Which is unusual cause I tend to go more into the heavy stuff.

My other favorite tracks are Grace Kelly, Love Today, Lollipop, My Interpretation and Stuck in the Middle, but I have yet to skip a song when listening to it.

I've read rumors that he's a happy homo, but can't find anything official If he is don't worry the gay culture in the USA will ignore him. Musically they are good bout doing that with gay artist over here.

I love the old lady interludes...is she from his family. She has very thick accent.

MIKA is a very refreshing artist. It's shame the album is only gonna be released here in March!

sad

The only weak track is Lollypop. It's a bit childish, but it flows nicely on the album

I saw him live last week in HMV - Oxford st. He sang an accoustic set: love today, my interpretation and grace kelly. He was pretty good but he seemed a little rushed.

Romeoblu

I can't Stand that Grace Kelley song.

I was alright to begin with but after beging subjected to to it about 5 times a day for the past 6 or so weeks it now drives me mad.

I hate it just like all the other crap I have to endure on a daily basis on the radio at the moment.

One Song I hate even more is that song about wearing your Jeans for four days.
