I'm trying gangsta I went into it with Pele on my mind and that sure aint Pele. I even tried to get into it lyrically and while I dug some if not most of them, it never felt personal to me. I think Tori whores love it because they are familiar with Tori and her bonics but it was very boring and bland to me. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Most Tori whores didn't love it actually. On this site, I think Northern Lad and I were the only ones.

Oh yes, true. I think I'm a weird among Tori fans though. Most immediately loved Choirgirl and Scarlet, but those took me years to revisit and appreciate. Beekeeper was an instant fit that most fans still rip apart to this day.

"Mohammed My Friend" & "Beit Lahem" are prime examples of her mystical influences. On a side note, "iieee" is heartbreaking by all means. You can just tell by her performance on that song how SAD she is over her miscarriage at the time.

For me it often goes back to one of my favourite quotes by Hugh Prather ~ very loosely stated (from my creaky memory)
I don't just want to hear what you are saying, I want to feel what you mean. There are so many Tori songs that waited until I caught up with them emotionally. Others are still in the wings. One thing I've noticed though, is that once you "own" a Tori song it is yours forever. I was listening to Cooling and Purple People side by side on my drive home tonight. A long drive in the dark by the Lake Huron ~ The Moon was rising in a salmon~tangerine color and casting light across the frozen lake. It was sublime and I was lost in those two songs for a time. I think part of it, Richard, is not to try too hard ~ just be still and let the words penetrate your psyche ~ see where the journey takes you. Music is the language of the spirit. It opens the secret of life bringing peace, abolishing strife. --Kahlil Gibran

Sorry. My typing, memory and thinking are absolute shit today. Of course you love it. We got into it together and went to 3 shows together. Now that Untouchable is back on the Org, he loved it right away too. That album's been so trashed at times that I'm used to being the only one that defends it.

Gangsta/Sexton do I have Cooling? Yes. It should be on the set that Sextonseven made you. There's an awesome version with a perfect little story on the 2nd disc of "Venus" too. It might just be the best song by anyone ever. Seriously.
