You're kidding right? I'm a huge MJ-fan but he definitely doesn't look normal in those pics.

I don't get all the fuss, and I don't get some people saying MJ looks ugly, bizarre or abnormal. Do you honestly think this man looks ugly?...

These are the latest photos taken of Michael to date. IMO, this shows he hasn't changed much since the 80s, and any changes he's made he's reverted. Expecially in that second pic, if you replaced that wig for a curly one, and if his skin was brown, it'd look like that photo was taken in the late 80s.

nuts What the hell about this man looks "normal" to you????? You have to be kidding me. What other human being, besides the equally whacked out Latoya, is walking around God's green earth looking like this? If I saw a creature like that walking down the street, I would run. He looks like Michael Myers from Haloween. And I'm not saying that to be cruel or funny. I used to love this man.
This is coming from someone who was pratically born and raised on MJ, and who had every intention of marrying him when I was a little girl. I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole now.
That pick someone posted earlier with the brown skin and the fro with his shirt open....I'd lick is dirty drawers back then. Now....Yuck.

By the late 80s MJ didn't look anything like MJ anyway. I want to look at MJ face and still see some resemblance to the MJ I grew up with in the 70s, the MJ of 1982 even. By the late 1980s MJ was already looking very much "whiter", that ain't Michael to me...

Now, I can understand those who became fans in the last 20 yrs thinking MJ doesn't look too different, but that because you became a fan when he had already changed drastically. If you think "freaky looking white" people look attractive, then fair enough, but don't expect the rest of the world to agree with you. What makes MJ look so much more freaky is that he isn't suppose to look like that in million years.

The racial element of Michael Jackson's appearance also takes root in the form of the people rationalizing, defending and approving of MJ's Caucasian-based looks. The majority of people I have met who are in the camp of endorsing MJ's looks tend to be non-black (and particularly, but not solely, white). A whiter MJ is more palatable to some and it confirms the myth of white supremacy when they see that a very succesful black man would basically give it all up just to be white.

If someone like David Bowie changed his features to look black and tried to pass clearly black children off as biologically his, wouldn't we hear white people calling him insane? How is that different from what MJ is doing?

And as I said before, I believe it also got to the point where those defending MJ's looks like him for not looking like a black man. By the early 1990s, MJ started looking much more feminine in his photos (including hairstyles and clothing that seemed feminine-inspired).

[Edited 2/11/07 17:54pm]

If you call military clothes feminine, than I guess he looks feminine. What makes him look feminine, in my opinion, is the make-up.

OK, then why has Michael Jackson gotten continous rhinoplasty surgeries to make his nose even more pronouncedly pointed over the years? It's not like we're talking about MJ had only one nose job -- he's had several, to the point where evidently the cartilage is worn out. Hell, why even get an operation that required a total remake of his nose? In order to make his nose from a broad, African-based nose to a pointed, Caucasian-based nose it required literally building a new one.

my last remark on this is after all those plastic surgeries, why would he let his hair demage his so desired caucasian looks for most of the time?

There´s nothing caucasian about his curles? Why would he keep those? Something so "black-looking"?

BTW I haven´t seen those pictures Darling Diana. Where are they from?
This is interesting. He really needs to do something about his hair. Here´s a photoshoped recent picture of him. He´d look real good with short hair.

I don't get your post. You state that Michael had curly "black-looking" hair, and ask why he kept it if he didn't want to be black, and then you turn right around and post a picture that shows that he obviously did not keep the "black -looking" hair. nuts The last time that Mike had curly "black-looking" hair, he still had a little bit of melanin.
And by the way, greasy drippy-drip long stringy curls are not native to any black folks that I know. You have to add chemicals and grease to turn black hair like that.

Too bad Michael Jackson didn't get cast in the next "Spider-Man" movie:

He's perfect for the role of Morbius, The Living Vampire.

You do realize that normal human beings don't look like this, right? You do realize that Michael Jackson didn't look like this at birth, OK? You're a perfect example of a certain generation (and for that matter, a certain group of people -- mostly non-black) who grew up with the notion that this is MJ's permanent look (early 1990s forward).

Quite a few of Michael Jackson's outfits had military-inspired themes, but a lot of them also were heavily sequined (which can be feminine, in some instances like formalwear). And there are these type of outfits:

And just to let you know, my wife has a formalwear jacket just like the one MJ is wearing in that last photo.

I posted one picture earlier, where he was walking with his "children." MJ was wearing some overshirt that looked similar to a formal dress I saw in Neiman Marcus, complete with a broach. You can call it semantics, but there certainly is nothing masculine about the style of those clothes. A lot of that stuff looks like someone went crazy with a rhinstone stud machine on them. That's not even counting this photo:

Look at the hairstyle, and notice what little of the jacket you can see. Also note that MJ is not performing (this was a public event in what looks to be in a reception hall).

I'm sure there was something in that statement that makes sense to you, but you do know that a jheri curl was a chemically processed hairstyle, right? lol lol lol You also realize that MJ was wearing that hairstyle even when it went passe, and then got it straightened, right? Let me guess: You thought that was Ready For The World's natural hair too, right? lol lol lol

Nothing if you're a man either. The issue really isn't his femininity, it's his mental illness. One is not directly related to the other, although in his case I wouldn't be surprised that feminism is a manifestation of something deeper lol

Well, that wasn't the road I was going down. My point was that I feel that certain segments were accepting Michael Jackson's appearance as he was moving away from looking like a black person, and then more specifically a black male. He seemed to reciprocate by wearing hairstyles I would associate with a woman and clothes with features I would consider androgynous to female.

That is not to say MJ is gay, just that MJ really moved away from a definitive racial and gender identity into something that tried to be some sort of bizarre melding of race (black and white) and gender (male and female).

The thing is most of MJ present, hardcore fanbase are probably non-black who became fans in the last 20 to 10 yrs. They know Michael no other way. I mean some of them think he still looked very "black" in the late 80s, when those of us who had been following his career well before then, were horrified at how much he had transformed by the time the album "Bad" came out, but to many of them that was when he was at his most "beautiful". They probably have never seen MJ with his 10 foot high afro, to think that having long, drippy curly perm is very common to amongst black peop;e, well yeah if it is chemically process...

I try not to be to too hard on MJ fans because I do know that many of them were attracted to him because of his "weird looks", the drama in his life, etc. I guess its different strokes for different folks.

You know what? Enough of this.

Already 12 years ago Micheal's own sister (who shall remain nameless) told me straight from her own MOUTH that her brother had been under the care of a doctor for years to lighten his f***** skin and had been under weekly treatments to do so. The vitiligo is simply a protective excuse to shield him from judgement. There it is, BASTA.

The man clearly has issues, get out of denial. By the same token, everyone has issues, so in the end, none of this really matters. Everybody's got their own road to travel on the journey of self-discovery or self-denial so I say just leave them to it already confused
