Y'all admired and worshipped Madonna for doing things far FARRRRR more sexually suggestive than anything Beyonce has ever done. She shakes her ass. She wears sexy clothes and you say she's cheap? When I dance I shake my ass. If I was built like Beyonce I would wear sexy clothes too.

I think some of the logic here used in defending some and attaking others is as simple as black and white.

i would agree wholeheartedly but I was hoping "they" would notice that without me saying so. If Beyonce was some Skandinavian chick, they'd be raising their glasses to toast her everytime they took a drink.

They must be deluded- that stupid bint has so many relationship and gender role issues that I wouldn't touch her with a 10-foot pole.

I agree -- what kind of reaction would there be if this was Shakira (an act who also dances and shakes her behind similarly to Beyonce in her videos)? Shakira is basically a Latino version of Beyonce.

Yeah, I'm trying to figure out how Beyonce qualifies as a "slut," when she's doing the same things pretty much every young, relatively attractive female recording artist is doing in her videos.

But it's deeper than that...She shakes her thing, but it's quite normal "ass" shaking...Nothing that crosses the line to soft porn...Hell, Shakira is even more suggestive than that Beyonce chick...I'm just saying...Some of the comments here go WAY beyond folks not like Beyonce because she is annoying...There's some other disturbing elements here...

I think it's apparent to me what the issue is: Beyonce is being judged much more harshly for doing what a lot of her peers do. My goodness, Beyonce doesn't shake nearly as hard as Tina Turner did in Tina's younger days and Beyonce is being labeled a "slut?" You would thought this was Madonna we were discussing.

Just admit to your biases so we all know where you stand -- there's nothing worse than someone hiding behind prejudices and not being honest enough to own up to them.

Oh c'mon. That dance thing on the ground in the "Crazy In Love" video wasn't exactly learnt in the church.

Only Prince could pull off something like that and not look too cheap.

I just cannot understand the Beyonce hate parade on the org.

Madonna has done everything this side of letting herself be photographed with a mufuggah's thang up in her. and ain't noooobody on the org accused her of being slutty or cheap (at least not that I know of) How many of y'all like Kylie Minogue? Think she's hot? I don't. Some of the stuff she's done is way more risque than anything Beyonce has ever done. Madonna has got books of herself hitchhiking naked and movies showing her simulating fellatio and SHE'S not slutty or cheap??? noooo She's and artist, She's a risk-taker, she's avante garde or whatever. Yet y'all hate on Beyonce because she's--- bouncy.Beyonce is young, pretty and her body is gorgeous. She's shaped like a woman, not a 10 year old boy. And she likes to show off her curves. Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Angelina Jolie and the rest all look like teen boys with water balloons strapped to their chests. Madonna can't even sing. okay.

I hate Beyonce because her music is fucking terrible and she comes across as a supreme bitch, not because of her apparent sluttiness. shrug

I imagine that sentiment also can apply to quite a few recording artists, but we're not talking about Beyonce's music but her physical appearance. I'm failing to see the connection.

It was in reply to why people hate Beyonce but not Madonna or Kylie.

Also, the reason Beyonce's music is relevant is that it would turn me the other direction in terms of wanting her as a girlfriend because of the baffling contradictions in her lyrics.

Exactly...this is a cultural/hip hop generation thing...Even if you hate the chick, no one in there right mind would call her a slut...Unless, a person has some issues...

Still, your reasoning on this one makes little sense Moonbeam...I dislike a lot of artists' music...But an attractive chick is an attrctive chick...

What person on this earth doesn't have issues?...Most of the girls named on that list have issues....Again, i would rather folks say different strokes for....And I still find it interesting that folks don't have much to say about questionable statements about Beyonce being a slut...To me that's intriguing...

Your logic still makes no sense, because if that is the case then Madonna definitely should be a turn-off. Most of Beyonce's lyrics in her most known songs are along the likes of "Survivor," "Me, Myself and I," "Bills, Bills, Bills, Bills" and "Irreplacable" -- namely, songs dogging men in some pseudo-solidarity stance of "girl power."

Contrast that with Madonna, who has made raunchy and explicit music, books and movies and has led a very public personal life that screams "freaky slut." I can't imagine anyone finding Madonna attractive considering she's had raunchy sex with the likes of Dennis Rodman (who explicitly talks about it in his own book).

The whole point is that people can hate Beyonce regardless of whether they deem her a "slut" or not. As you point out, Madonna has certainly topped Beyonce in that department, but I love Madonna and can't stand Beyonce. Their "slutty" behavior or lack thereof has nothing to do with it.

Beyonce's lyrics are often a direct contradiction. Proclaiming that she needs others to pay her bills as you mention and then congratulating herself for being an "independent woman" is one example. Then the infidelity contraditions of "Say My Name" (where she is wary of her man's cheating) and "Jumpin' Jumpin'" (where she basically encourages cheating), and those were subsequent singles! Don't even get me started on "Irreplaceable". It just makes her come off to me as someone who hasn't got a clue.

And let me make myself clear...

I'm not the biggest Beyonce fan (She's a bit overexposed...I can tolerate her at times, but I do think she his fine as all hell...) On the real, I didn't like the way the whole Destiny Child shit went down with those other girls being pushed out by Papa Knowles....

That said, it seems like the hate for this girl on the org. has taken a disturbing turn...I'm down to shit on folks because we find their music a bore or some bullshit...But the whole "slut" shit and the "she has issues" stuff is a little left field...Because all of those celebrity chick have issues and dance provatively...Most, more than that Beyonce chick..She's a sqaure compared to the Britney, Christia, and the like.....To me, the over the top, personal hate shows that there's something else going on here...

No I'm not..(no smiley face)....My point is, the list was all about the attractiveness of these women...Not whether or not they write great songs...You are the one reaching Moon by making that an issue with a list that clearly has nothing to do with that...But it's all good...We are cool..(And my comments were more aimed at the slut comments and the fact no one called out such a silly, clueless, and bullshit statement)...

I'm not speaking on behalf of others, because they can adequately do so themselves. Your implication that my distaste for Beyonce is racially motivated is offensive and unfounded. I never knew there was a law stating that Beyonce was above reproach. shrug

No...your comments have nothing to do with that Moon..In fact, while i don't agree with them, it aint nothing racial about it...My comments were aimed to all the folks on this site who had nothing to say about the "slut" comment...And again, that's truely telling...
