I'm working on a mix at the minute! It's going to be a mixture of early-80s Euro-disco, cheesey-listening, glam rock and electrocrass.

I want it to sound like a high-speed car chase on a hot sunny Saturday night.

My compilations are always individual tracks, whereas my mixes are always a continuous 80 minute jam.

Supa, you should start a blog and post all the mixes you have!

That's the exact same thing that happened to my old mixer. The crossfader had been dead for years so I started using the up and down volume controls. Actually, I had better mixes using them because I could always get the volume to match when switching from one song to another. Sometimes with the crossfader, one song would be louder than the other when switching.

I used the volume controls for years until they started getting static in them. I could control it for a little while though. When I first turned on the mixer, I would put on a record and slide the volume controls up and down real fast until I didn't hear any more static. That worked for about a year but then it got hopeless.

A few months ago I got a new mixer and this one has an echo control on it also, which I've been loving. If you get another mixer, I got mine from Radio Shack in 1999 in it lived until 2006.....2003 or 2004 with the crossfader.
