KOOL AND THE GANG...the JAZZ group I didnt know that when Kool and the Gang INITIALLY started recording, their first 4-5 albums where heavy jazz fusions. Which are the better oones? Ima buy one today... | |

What you'll find recorded on their earliest albums are a combination of jazzier material and the raw funk that made them popular during that period.
I recently acquired their first 2 "studio" albums which are hard to find at a decent price...  
...Kool and the Gang & Music Is The Message Their 2nd and 3rd albums are live recordings...  
...Live At The Sex Machine & Live at P.J.'s Each of these 4 albums showcase a well rehearsed band of serious musicians that also know how to party. Let me know if you need more info on this pre-JT period.
