Steve Winwood Anybody know whatever happened to him? He had some nice tunes like "Higher Love" and "Back In The Highlife." Such a nice voice(blue-eyed soul)  Any info? | |

He's definitely living the "high life" on his vast farm/estate. "CBS This Morning" did a profile on him a few months ago. He's basically hanging out on his farm with his wife and children and records music at his leisure in a recording studio located on his estate. There was some footage of him recording some new music with members of his band. He seems to be very content and he's held onto his money throughout the years. I really liked Back in the High Life. I was a kid when it came out, and that was the first I'd heard of him.

I'm lucky enough to have a really great indie shop nearby, but most of the large 'music' retailers seem to barely even stock music these days - most of the shelves seem to be given over to DVDs - and they stock very little in the way of catalogue items. harrumph. but that's another thread, I guess... | |

control used to be my favourite album of 86 until I got back in the high life. I can listen to it without skipping a song and those songs give me chills. I know I keep saying that and the album sounds like a lot of other 80's songs but this one just hit home for me. Even though the lyrics are simple it's stuff people could relate to no matter what demographic | |

I'm sure it wasn't his best work, but to a 15 year old it was classic and somewhat deep pop. I always likened it to Peter Gabriel's So, which came out around the same time. Two big pop albums that jump started an older artist's career. I liked B.I.T.H.L. better, but I guess So has aged better, at least in people's minds. My Legacy
