Joni Mitchell - preppin' myself to fam out

These are the albums I already had:

I actually had Hits since it came out in 1996 and I didn't go any further with my Joni love until recently I bought those other ones. Court And Spark is my favorite of those so far.

I bought all these and I am hoping to check them all out soon:

I am hoping that Misses gives me a good idea of her 80s output. I only remember seeing one video of hers in 1985 on Muchmusic.

I started listening to Blue.

Nice. I think Hejira is definitely one worth having, and Don Juan's Reckless Daughter & Mingus are very good, if flawed.

Actually I haven't heard anything before Blue. That't where I'll go next.

You got most of what I think is her best body of work, even though I know am heavily into her new smokey voiced stuff too.

Blue boils down to EVERYTHING that is good about her, though.

I like Mingus, but I don't love every song. Actually I don't have it anymore, and I'm kind of jonesing to hear it again.

I have to warn you though
every last person I've let
hear "The Jungle Line"
did not like it

I guess it's a druggie thing
it's great smoke music
"be who you are and say what you feel
because those who mind don't matter
and those who matter don't mind."

The Jungle Line was the last song I liked on the record--and I was a big smoker nod. It sounded like a failed experiment to me at first.

I think you have to get into the lyrics. But it's an amazing song. The melody is sublime.

Yeah, I really like Court and Spark. I also have Blue, but I haven't ever really given it a good listen. I'd like to hear more of her stuff.

I like everything I've heard by her, but Court & Spark is definitely my favorite. Blue is a pretty close second.

Hissing of Summer Lawns is notable because of the strange sounds & melodies, but also because it's not the typical personal romantic musings (Blue is full of 'em) she's known for. It has plenty of romance, but not so obvious as her earler stuff.

I notice a difference
with me & other Joni appreciators

I'm never on the same page lol

I have unique taste, sort of

peppermint stick in the middle

and those who matter don't mind."
