I was in 8th grade from Sep92-Jun93 (CLASS OF 97 IN HERE!), here's the five joints that got played to death:
1.The Chronic - Dr. Dre 2.Backdafucup - Onyx 3.Talkin Shit - Martin Lawrence - I know it's not a music CD but it was funny as hell and still is IMO! 4.What's The 411? - Mary J. Blige 5.Nineteen Naughty Three - Naughty By Nature [Edited 1/17/07 22:19pm]

Most of that stuff is from '91. Maybe they were catching up on a few things.

Ex-Moderator | 8th grade was my transition year, when I went from my favorite band being New Kids on the Block to Love and Rockets and the Cure. I remember really liking Edie Brickell and discovering Depeche Mode and seeking out their entire back catalog. And of course, I still loved Prince. |

8th Grade 1985:
1. Oh Sheila - Ready for the World 2. Raspberry Beret - Prince 3. Material Girl - Madonna 4. Party All the Time - Eddie Murphy 5. Neutron Dance - Pointer Sisters In school that year, a band came to school to do a concert of cover songs. It was a big deal for us. I remember they sang "Pop Life," but I had never heard it. Also the lead singer started to sing "Say You, Say Me" by Lionel Ritchie and came down and took my hand as I was in the front row, and pulled me on stage to sing to me in front of my whole school. I was mortified!

The more I think about this, the more I realize 8th grade was the year of SOTT. I played it to absolute death! And I remember being quite into George Michael and Janet Jackson as well. [Edited 1/18/07 4:19am] |
