It an addictive album in my opinion... my problem with 3121 is songs like Incence and Candles is just like some of the sappy pop music that has been released today. I felt a little indifferent about songs like Incense and Candles, Love, and Black Sweat at first, but I've grown to like them because you can't be original all of the time can you? Overall, i think that 3121 was one of the best albums of 2006! Check me out and add me on:

I still don't know why Diddy came back at all with this crappy album:

[Edited 1/15/07 20:53pm] Well, no offense, I don't think that's right...No, I doubt Brooke's album is gold, but it's unfair to give it a slam without a listen. Quite a few indie rock records are inspired shit too...they just slip under the radar. I agree that I'm not going to seriously slam an album until I've heard it all as opposed to just one or two singles.

I'd include Diddy and take off Kelis and Justin. Don't know about Brooke Hogan's album but for some reason I had a soft spot for her and wanted her to succeed. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I've got an unusual one:
The recording of the Mozart "Requiem" with Christian Thielemann conducting. Horrible! He lets Mozart die for the 2nd time! A Bruckner symphony sounds like chamber music compared to this interpretation of one of the most brilliant pieces of music ever written - it completely misses the Mozart style! i didn't think the kelis album was so bad, either. a little generic in places, but really fun and trashy overall.

Kelis made the bottom of my 2006 list along with Janet's 20 Y.O. and The Sounds' 'Dying To Say This To You'. I also bought a noise record by AIDS Wolf ('The Lovvers LP'). That one was rock bottom.

I wanted to like Kelis' album more than I actually did, if that makes sense.

I didn't think it was a total bomb either. There are three songs on it that I think rank as some as Kelis' best ever. On the contrary, there's a big gap between the Kelis and Janet albums and AIDS Wolf.

I just thought in comparison the rest of the album sounded half-assed--like the band poured all their energy and money into making the lead single and didn't have anything left for the other songs.
