You'll have to order another one if you ever decide to have kids. I hear it's near impossible to do without a manual. nod

I know. I'll just get some out-of-print/out of date copy at a second hand store. It's cheaper that way. nod

Just make sure the copy you get isn't so old that the info is wrong. A manual from the 50s while valuable isn't very accurate.

Sorry, I just don't think it's on the same level as the other songs...

I love these threads! "Kooks" brought out the best in us all!

Anyway, I can't really argue with these 5 songs, even if I like "Kooks" better than 3 of them. mad

My vote this time is for..."Changes".

At this point, I really can't complain. I love all the rest. I just love the others a little more!

Oh You Pretty Things is the only one I really take issue with. I know better than to think I'll be more than a minority of one in saying this, but I do think it's rather poor...the kind of jaunty music hall number that Ray Davies could toss off in his sleep.

Since we're talking "Hunky Dory"...

Queen Bitch was brazenly copied by The Killers in Mr. Brightside.

Just sayin....

i'm going with "changes" too. i realize how essential and classic and wonderful it is, blah-blah...but the other four songs on this list are just too near and dear to me. i like "changes" the same way i like "fame" or "rebel rebel" - i have tons of love for these songs, but mostly because it's where my love of bowie can intersect with people i know who don't know his music very well but they like "that one song he does". lol

every GREAT now and then i still connect with the greatness that is "changes", but compared to the other songs on the list at this point, i don't come back to it nearly as much.

so there's that.
