I'd never heard of him 'til the link yesterday (thanks for that) and I've played it a few times. Getting the CD soon, probably today. Nice song. Nice hook.

I actually saw him live about a month and a half ago. lol A friend of mine had tickets and he didn't have anyone to go with. He just buys tickets to absolutely everything and just goes to shows. lol

So he didn't even really know who he was either, and I had no clue whatsoever who I was going to see. Small venue (Melkweg, Amsterdam) and it was packed. We were joking about how it was going to be all women there, and we weren't wrong. lol

Anyway, it was a good show though, although it's always odd to go see someone when you don't know one single song by them. The whole time the women were just screaming though and basically watching the whole show through their phone cameras and singing along. confused

He had a great voice though. nod Reminded me a bit of Terence Trent D'arby actually. the music though was a bit on the Dave Matthews side confused and at times was just a little too happy/smiley for me. lol I mean, the band was just grinning the whole time. lol

He played acoustic guitar pretty well and sounded great. I still wouldn't buy his album though. falloff Not really my thing.

Thanks V biggrin

By now he has already sold out a larger venue (Heineken Music Hall).
Glad we got to see it at the smaller Melkweg.

Yesterday we saw The Funk Brothers in Paradiso Amsterdam, which was not as great as a couple of years ago (some Funk Brothers died and some got "divourced" with each other wink ) But it was still nice to see !!

The song is nice and his voice is not bad, but I don't understand why people compare him to TTD, his voice sounds nothing like him mad .

I heard an entire concert by him on television and I have seen TTD live about 20 times and there was not the slightest ressamblance. no no no!

Well, you had to be there then. I swear, I turned to the person I was at the show with, and we both agreed right away that he sounded like TTD. nod And so what if he does sound like him? lol Is that a bad thing to compare his voice to him or something? hmm

I haven't heard anyone else make that comparison. Is it a common one or something? I have no idea.

Well I read about that comparison in some reviews of his album and/or live show. No it's not a bad thing, though his voice is so not in the same league as Sananda's IMO. I just think it's not the case at all and neither does my boyfriend who watched the concert with me and is very familiar with Sananda's music as well. I read that Cody Chesnutt sounds like TTD and I don't hear that either, though I love Cody's album and I like his voice. If anyone has a voice similar to TTD it's Ce-Loo (sp?) IMO, though his voice sucks big time live, so he sounds a lot like TTD, but a hundred times worse lol.

No denying that TTD has a great voice. I just was really impressed with James Morrison's voice at that show. It really was flawless and surprisingly, very soulful.

God I can't believe I'm even defending the guy. I'm not even a fan. lol

that song "its a wonderful world" or whatever it's called is more sappy than Corrine Bailey Rae's "put your records on" ill

OMG!!!!!

THANK YOU!!! I've been like..in love with this song for the past 2 weeks now, but i just couldn't remember it's title or the singer's name! The strange thing is that i only listened once this song and that's why i couldn't remember the lyrics, just the melody. I've been searching for it like crazy these days but without any success.

biggrin once again thank you wink

It's a cute little song..... I like the string- & brass-arrangements in the bridge of it..... The video is cute as well!

I actually just bought the single yesterday on a whim and at the recommendation of a friend and it's great stuff! Hopefully he doesn't turn out to be another James Blunt.
